First time we have been unhappy with a Viking appliance. We had to re-set the unit a number of times to get it to start a cycle. We never truly figured it out and the operating material shipped with it is not clear and hard to find anything online. Then an arm felll off every time it cycled through. We ended up returning it.

This Viking Dishwasher is amazing!! It cleans everything spotless, even baked on food that you would think you wold have to scrub off after the wash cycle. Not the case at all!
I also like that there is a light that goes on when you open the door.

Everything is cool, but the install a few weeks ago wasn’t that well. They only put in two screws to mount the dishwasher and it has a lean to the right. It’s not even center. They snugged it all the way to the left in the dishwasher hole. Also it seems they didn’t have long enough screws for the right side because one of them fell out of the hole and kinda offset the door and seems the door isn’t straight anymore either. Great Dishwasher, bad install.

My third Viking Dishwasher - Like this one the best. Lighting in the interior has been moved to front and makes a nice difference.

Less than one week old and the control switch is broken. The unit is quiet but also doesn’t have the same specifications as are listed online.
Best Buy does not honor their specification or provide a reasonable solution like a purchase upgrade. Only option is to return and exchange

While I like this dishwashers looks. It does the job cleaning. It is very quiet! However I gave it 4 stars due to the awful drying of the dishes. The unit stays wet inside and you ultimately have to dry your dishes as you take them .I also do not care for the silverware tray. Would I purchase again probably not ! Having to dry my dishes takes away the greatness.of using a dishwasher.

This unit replaced a 2006 model. It is much quieter and does a great job washing dishes and pans. Takes a little time to get used to the touch buttons but they work smoothly. With the new government regs anout no heating elements this unit does a good job of drying with the stainless steel interior

Doesn't Dry

Cleans well, very very quiet. DOES NOT DRY. I even put it on the setting for "High Gloss" that supposedly dries even more, and my dishwasher is soaking wet when I open it in the morning. This dishwasher doesn't use a heating element to dry dishes, it uses the condensation method. I believe that means that there needs to be really good seal between the top of the dishwasher and the countertop. Maybe BestBuy install didn't do it correctly, but I can't be sure. All I know is, I have a brand new dishwasher that doesn't dry my dishes.

Works extremely well. Quiet, cleans exceptionally. Has nice features of an interior light and up top storage for the utensils.

Really beautiful dishwasher with solid interior and the lighting is modern inside the machine.
The ease of use is a little annoying. I get it, but my Doctor spouse doesn't.
This had to be exchanged because of a factory issue with the heater. It would run for 8 hours plus until they finally exchanged it.

we bought Viking to match our other kitchen appliances. This is an expensive Viking dishwasher, but pretty much delivers on what is promised. It looks sleek, is super quiet, has lots of room for dishes and does great job washing and drying as well. It so quiet, we don't even its on most of the time. It also has several modes, such as 1 hour wash, etc. This new one replaced another Viking dishwasher that we had which lasted about 10 years, so hoping this one lasts just as long. Happy with this purchase.

I went with this model because we have an all Viking kitchen and needed to replace our 20 year old Kitchenaid that they no longer make parts for. The installers were very professional and courteous, actually carrying the both old and the new unit instead of using a dolly. Installation went without a hitch and we were up and running within 20 minutes. Josh took his time to explain all the functions and how everything works even though it comes with a manual. When they left, I loaded it up and could barely tell it was on it was that quiet. True test was clean spotless dishes and it passed with flying colors.

Dishwasher will not dry dishes Completely, unless you use a Rinse Aid. You must run hot water in the sink for one minute before Use. A less expensive dishwasher does not go through this routine. Very Inconvenient. This was suggested by a Viking Technical.

I hope - really hope - that our experience was an outlier. We had an older Viking dishwasher (circa 2010; inherited when we bought our house) that we really liked, so when it died, we bought this one without doing any research.
From a design perspective, the bar on this dishwasher is 1/2" thicker than on our old one, which seems a LOT bigger when you see it in person. It had a lot more visual weight than the bar on our old machine. I didn't like the way it looked.
From a function perspective, it was terrible. Literally the only wash function that worked was "normal." When we turned on the "high gloss function" when running the dishwasher before bed, I woke up the next morning to find the dishwasher still running - there was some glitch in the motherboard that made the whole cycle start over when it reached the end.
Also, it doesn't dry plastic. Period. In our old machine, plastic stuff would be mostly dry - maybe a few drops of water that were easily wiped away. With this machine, the porcelain and silverware would be dry, but the plastic would look like I just dunked it in water.
It was also louder than our 9-year-old dishwasher, which seems impossible. But it's true. We have an open floor plan, so quietness is a high priority.
The third rack is a joke. Because it's made of plastic, it just collects water that then drips down onto the dishes below at the end of the cycle.
The upper rack didn't hold nearly as much as our old machine - not an efficient use of space. The lower rack had a catch on it to prevent you from pulling it all the way out of the machine. But the result was that you couldn't pull the lower rack out all the way, which made loading more difficult.
We returned this dishwasher within 3 days and exchanged for a Bosch 800 series, and we are much happier. The Bosch is quieter, holds more stuff, dries plastic much better (on par with our old machine), has more than 1 cycle that works, and was $300 cheaper. It's also prettier. The bar is much lower profile than the Viking. (I like having a bar on which to hang dish towels.)
Get the Bosch. It's better and less expensive.

I was very excited to upgrade my kitchen to all Viking appliances. I am starting to think that I have made an expensive mistake. So far I have had issues with my french door oven, gas range and dishwasher. I will review the dishwasher here.
Right out of the box, the dishwasher failed. It would work once or twice and then give us an error code. The Viking technician came out and reset it and after that didn't work, he replaced the pump. That still didn't sort out the problem and it kept giving us an error code every other wash cycle. The technician finally replaced the sensors and the circuit board and (fingers crossed), it has been working ever since.
I am happy with how it cleans the dishes and I love the 3rd rack but am disappointed that so many parts had to be replaced on a brand new dishwasher before it worked.

Viking 24” Built-In Dishwasher

Viking 24” built in dishwasher is very quiet and is working very well. This was our 3rd delivery; first did not work after one wash cycle due to an apparent problem with the drain motor. A second dishwasher was delivered quickly but was discovered to be dented when it was unboxed. 3rd time was a charm...this third dishwasher is great. Installer was a pro and very good. Best Buy made good despite the challenges of deliveries during the COVID pandemic.

Poor controls, mediocre configuration inside

The controls are a pain to use. I have to hit the on/off button 6-7 time before it actually works. Even the when the wash cycle is picked and door shut it is 50/50 as to actually washing the dishes. Again this morning I got up to dirty dishes despite making sure the indicator light was shining on floor when I went to bed. I just pressed the start again, saw the light on and then 1 minute later it was off.
The con figuration inside doesn’t allow for tall glasses on top shelf and is often too narrow to fit coffe mugs and other glasses.

The dishwasher is well made; the only problem I have is programming the dishwasher to work. While, I understand to make it more sophisticated but at the end of the day it's just a dishwasher with the purpose of cleaning dishes. Simplification should be the norm, I had to go to YouTube videos to understand how it works!!

Great dish washer! This unit is so quiet I’ve accidentally opened a few times after the wife started it. I couldn’t hear it running and wanted to toss some dishes in. Once washed, dishes are as clean as can be. Glasses come out looking crystal clear! Our old unit couldn’t stand up to this one on its best day!
