I'm a sucker for a good Viking age movie or show. This show brings just that. Well acted & well shot, this show reminds of Game of Thrones in a sense as it's a sort of sword-and-sandle type of show, it also goes over the Vikings adventure towards Western expansion with amazing fight scenes, gorgeous cinematography. Highly recommend buying this show, especially on blu-ray, as it's a beauty to look at.

From Michael Hurst, who brought us the colorful, majestic world of "The Tudors" we now travel to a bleak washed out, gritty and down to earth world of Vikings. Great characters, who will continue to be developed in the next three seasons (if they survive). Almost shot in a more documentary style, you might think you're watching the History channel - oh, that's right, you are! Recommended,

Vikings is realistic, brutal, and very gritty. It's based on real historical people i.e. Ragnor Lothbrok and the development team has done an outstanding job making it authentic. The setting is beautiful and the actors do a brilliant job with their characters. I highly recommend the Blu-Ray version as you get both the regular cut and an extended version (not for kids) with some commentary's and documentaries.

I've heard lots of great things about this particular series. I was pleasantly surprised by the sets, story and characters. I think this show and The Last Kingdom should be watched consecutively since they deal with some of the same historical figures and eras in English history. I wouldn't say that it's better than Game of Thrones but it's a great show nonetheless.

One of my co-workers recommended this show since I love Game of Thrones and I fell in love with it in the first episode. The characters are well thought out and the actors do a very good job. The main female role Lagertha is definitly one of my favorite characters in all shows that I have watched. I would recommend this show. Lots of action and drama. I can't wait for the 3rd season!

Being Swedish, I have always had an interest in my country's history and Viking lore in particular. So when I found this tv series on dvd, I investigated and found nothing but great reviews, along with historical information on the net. And I loved the first year, great acting and action, and storyline. Heading into season 2 with some binging!!

The first season of the hit series delves into the history of the characters to allow viewers to form their own opinions on who they like, who they hate and who needs to die. It's a great series, though similar to Games of thrones (in terms of the time period, battling with swords and violent deaths) this serious centers on a tribe/clan of warriors.

If you love action and a "man-opera" this is the show for you. The compilation of the story of Ragnar into a singular show was done extremely well and the acting is top notch. A perfect depiction of the Viking culture. So much so that you feel like you're there yourself.

This item came same day as promised. However the case was cracked. But the dvds inside were fine. I also ordered season two that was supposed to be delivered same day with season one. However it did not come same day. It came 4 days later. Domt know why.

This show is amazing. Yes, it's violent and bloody - but it's a legit historical fiction, and does what many other Viking portrayals never did: tells the story of the vikings from their own side as well as the views of the English. Def worth watching.

The story is Fantastic and believable. I just wish we could get our hands on it faster and there wasn't such a long wait after the season ends on cable. I don't have cable and wait for all of these series to come out on BlueRay, I just wish they would speed up the releases. I can't wait to see what happens in season two!

Honestly one of my favorite shows. Would recommend this to anyone especially someone who is fascinated by any type of mythology. It doesn't get much better than Norse Mythology. Even though Ragnar Lothbrook was an actual human being the show still builds upon the great Norse myths. Phenomenal second season.

The series is more intoxicating than Games of Thrones and every detail is so researched ...and all the acting is incredibly natural. It has great cinematography, breathtaking settings, perfect casting and solid directing. I look forward to the next season!!!!

The show is very dark, gritty and satisfying. The writing brings realism to the stories which makes it very believable. Also very the well casted Travis Fimmel as Ragnar, you just have to love the cockiness and authorative demeaning yet light hearted character he brings to the screen.

The History channel really came up with a surprise. Great acting, character development, settings, atmosphere and, yes, action. We had watched it on TV but we had to have it--specially for less than $10. The 2nd season was almost as good and we are anxiously waiting for the 3rd one.

My wife started watching the show when I began working nights. After the 1st season came out she said we had to get it. So glad we did. It's an incredible show. Anyone who enjoys history and shows with violence will love it.

My friend loves this show! She started binge watching the first season and is hooked. I bought this for her as a gift. She is excited to finish out all the seasons. Delivery time on this was awesome. I expected 5-7 days and it arrived in 3 days.

Checked out this show on a whim and I'm glad I did! I personally think it is the best show out there and easily defeats Game of Thrones. I've read all the Game of Thrones books and seen the show and have grown bored with it. Vikings is the new king!

I wasn't sure about purchasing this but after watching the first episode my doubts were laid to rest. It has a great cast, an excellent shooting location and brilliant look on how Vikings possibly lived.

I enjoyed Vikings on History channel and I eventually bought this when it became cheap enough. It has a few Director's/Actor's commentaries and all the episodes have extended versions which I have been told are the European versions.
