Got this and a couple other pieces for a great price from Best Buy. Working great with the other pieces so far.

Part of remote start install for safety reasons .... so you can't remote start on accident if the hood is open on some models.

Great product with my remote start!! Works awesome!!!

I purchased the Drone remort start for my daughters pickup. the switch was required to make everything work together and is a super reasonable price additionto the kit. Some other models require 1--200 dollars of additional expense However this was the only extra to make this a perfect tool to track the pick up where about with the free app that is available.

Remote start installations require a safety switch that disables the remote start capability when the hood is open. This keeps the engine from starting if a mechanic has his hands near the engine. Most remote start kits come with mechanical switches, which can corrode and fail in areas with road or sea salt. This encased switch will last as long as the car.

In the 60s and 70s we used to have mercury switches in our cars to set of the alarm if someone tried to jack it up to steal our weels and they worked great unless you parked on a hill.. Now 50 years later I still have to put on the coolest wheels and tires on my vehicles and this new tilt switch is a great improvement

I got this with a package deal from best buy it's good to have extra peace of mind since bad guys will pop hoods and kill the battery at least if they do that with this on the alarm will sound maybe making them go elsewhere or at least go off for a few seconds but remember something is always better than nothing

The bearing style switch is going to be superior to the pin style because of corrosion. The hood pin type can rust over time and send a faulty signal to the car starter. The enclosed style is far better suited to climate conditions and should last far longer then the hood pin type. An easy decision if installing a remote car stater.

This is very useful in preventing accidental starts while the hood is not closed. Depending on your security system it may also set off the alarm if you have an un-authorized person break open the hood. If you get a remote start I would suggest this product; it will definitely help prevent theft and improper use of your vehicle.
