    I read the reviews & saw that there's a subscription for the item. I'm good. I returned this item & I bought a better one. Also, there was no email to ask me to make a reservation to install the item even though I bought it with installation needed. No thanks!

    Did not work in 2013 Jetta took it to Best Buy 3 times and never got it rite ended up getting idatastart and drone mobile works grate

    Box says 60 days trial but when you call viper they said you have to get the higher package unit to get it.

    I was under the impression, not sure where but thought I verified that no monthly subscription was needed for remote starting only and that was for use of other features like GPS, the map, and diagnostics. Found out I was wrong after install. We have the GM app on other vehicles that remote start without need of subscription. Would have made other choices had I understood that. 3 stars is simply because you shoudn't need to pay to start your car.

    To start best buy installers were great, however Viper customer service is not, been 2 weeks and still no reply. The app only works 50% of the time. Even when it does work you don't know it because it will tell you there was a communication error but you look outside at your vehicle later and its running so you never know. The worst part is that when you remote start the vehicle form your phone then try and walk outside and get in your car and use the factory key fob from your car it wont work. It basically locks you out of the car until either the time limit is reached where the remote start shuts the vehicle down or you have to use your key in the door to open the door. The unlock feature doesn't work either, maybe 50% of the time. So you start your car, you walk out to your car, you realize your factory key fob doesn't work (keep in mind its 20 degrees outside or its raining or snowing) you try the unlock feature on the app and it literally either fails 10 times before it works or the little icon just keeps spinning waiting for it to unlock while you are standing next to your car. Finally you have to fumble to grab your manual key and unlock the door. so 10 minutes later you can access your car. Keeping in mind that is even if the car started in the first place

    Misrepresentation on mobile website

    I bought this system on best buy's deal of the day (which included, I thought, everything I needed for this to be in my vehicle and on my way), and then after waiting 2 weeks for my appointment in the install bay, I get there and the install technician says that I have to pay $99 for an extra part and 30 something for installing that part. This was nowhere on the mobile website, my receipt, the product, and was not told to me beforehand when I made the appointment. Needless to say I am not impressed with Best Buy's mobile website, their description of this product, or the install tech. Be careful when spending this much money on this product, because you will most likely have to spend even more than advertised.

    Excellent remote start unit and app

    I purchased this particular model when I saw deal come up on Best Buy. There were some initial confusion with the model numbers and I could not find this particular model on Amazon, so I was a little skeptical. Nevertheless, I went ahead and purchased it with the geek squad installation. The app itself is wonderful. You can remote start the car from your phone. The app allows you to locate your car on a map. It allows you to lock and unlock your car from the app itself. I'm not sure how important this is for some people, but it also allows you to track the speed at which your car is going, and will alert you if your car goes about a certain speed. Therefore, I think that the app and that unit does exactly what I wanted it to do. This particular model has everything in the box that you would need for the insulation. You would not need to purchase anything separately, unless you want remote start keyfob as well, in which case it is a different model number. The geek squad installation was a little problematic, but I think that was because of the location itself and the people working there, than the actual service itself. Be prepared to leave your car overnight or for a couple of days, because I really think my branch nearest to me is very slow. They did a good job, though. I can think of a few improvements for the app. Instead of just reminding me to start the car by setting a schedule for the alerts, it would be better if the app could go ahead and start the car according to the schedule I put in. That would make it perfect! The app itself is pretty responsive, and does a job of starting my car a lot faster than my wife's Lexus Enform app. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone

    A yearly subcription of disappointment

    Had a VSS4X10B installed into a 2005 Subaru Outback XT Ltd. Its ok at best. System starts the car using phone or 3X lock. It fails to retreive response once started. Get engine status unavailable error so the timer never starts. Called DEI cust service. Hung up on twice then referred to installer. Took it back to installer who spent an additional 2.5 hrs troubleshooting. It's installed and programmed correctly. Pretty disappointed

    Works intermittently. It recently stopped working everywhere it use to and nothing changed on my end (same cell phone and carrier). Customer service is thee worst..it takes over a month to get a response via email and note I said a response, I have yet to have my question answered or problem solved and I am still waiting for a response from over a month ago. Unfortunately, calling in is worse. I have never called in and spoke to anyone...I am on hold now. I usually wait 30-40 mins before I hang up, been on hold 30 mins now. By something, anything else.
