Although PCI (nonexpress) is slower and older technology than PCI Express, the only slot I had available on my PC was a nonexpress PCI slot. This product enabled me to add 2 extra monitors in tandem with my PCI Express x32 video card that supported 3 monitors. This gave me a total of 5 monitors without requiring me to swap out my power supply. The response rate and quality is lower but it does the job. It works well for my purposes (programming and general operations) but I wouldn't recommend it for gaming (obviously).

Our project required two VGA monitors for one workstation with PCI slots. Research showed many advanced video cards and PCI cards with one DVI slot or a combination of a DVI and VGA but a splitter and adaptor were an extra purchase. This video card came with all we needed and installed easily.
