It's a good camera, I bought it for my 11 years old son for his boyscouts trips. He is very happy with the performance and Quality of the pictures and Video.

The battery only lasts about 15 minutes or less and it takes really long to transfer your videos to your phone. It takes a lot of space on your phone if you don’t have enough storage. The only good thing about this camera is that it has a pretty good quality to the camera. Do not buy for taking videos. I would recommend buying the go pro better.

This is my second review as my first review that was approved wasn't posted. Followed instructions to the T. especially for battery charging. The camera only recorded one loop in the auto mode. Second use, after recharging again after only 3 minutes recorded in auto mode, the camera froze. I removed the battery and started recording using the wireless control and recorded approximately 5 minutes of 1080P video as the battery discharged quickly. Recharged the battery and set it to record in 4k and after several minutes of recording using the android app the app stopped working after getting a dead battery notification in the app and the connection was lost. The camera LCD was on but froze again. The battery indicator reflected half battery life remaining thus I left the camera in the frozen state with LCD on and it remained on for another 35 -45 minutes or so. The camera was very hot to touch. At this point, I had written my first review and continued with attempts to get the best out of the camera and recharged the battery again. Upon powering on the LCD welcome screen letters were not complete. I used the wristband remote until the camera or the remote experienced problems. I removed and replaced the battery again and was able to record approximately 15 minutes of 4k video using the app to control the camera settings. I could not determine which component was the problem or are they both defective. Video quality - 4K is horrible but then it's not really 4K it's upscaled to 4K. 1080P is subpar even compared to cable tv's 1080i playing on my Samsung KS8000 4K TV. I recorded similar video with my Samsung Note 4 in HD and if was far superior to the camera's 4k video. Wifi - Wifi connected easily and quickly however when my app froze and lost the wifi connection after getting a dead battery notification on the phone app although the camera's LCD remained on and the battery indicator showed half battery life remaining. I couldn't determine what the issue was as mentioned above the camera froze again. Apps and software- The camera didn't work long enough to determine the apps capability. The software is very basic and was unable to transfer files after the camera froze 3 times. So what is the problem Camera or software? My thought is the camera as the first videos downloaded/transferred smoothly and efficiently. I should have trusted the reviews about the battery and I should have given more consideration to the knowledgeable Best Buy representative who stated he didn't know anything about the camera as they were just received shortly before Christmas and the store didn't have them on display. My closing comments on my first review is more than likely the reason it was not posted after being approved. Thus I will refrain from giving details about Best Buy only products which are in general made to good quality standards.

Purchased this camera for vacation trip with the intent to use while zip lining. Basically you get what you pay for. The battery lasted maybe 15 minutes from a full charge and I wasn't able to get any footage at all. The wi-fi took multiple attempts to connect. Will be returned and purchasing a GoPro.

I bought this cam for my son for his 10th birthday. He is interested in making YouTube videos and this camera is perfect for him. It takes really high quality videos. The functionality takes some time to get used to, but once you get it figured out it is pretty easy to use. We had to return the first one as it was defective. It would only show "snow" (like a channel that is off the air) on the screen. The second one worked perfectly!

For the $40 I paid for this I did not expect $500 GoPro quality and neither should you. Having said that this is still a great camera for someone like me just getting into using action cameras. It has a few different modes including dash cam mode which may just push me to buy another one of these. Also, it has wifi(which will drain your battery FAST if you have it on in BFE) which is nice to use at home if need be.

My son loves this camera to make videos that he can upload to YouTube. He originally wanted a GoPro, but he is more than happy

Didn't know what to expect from the little reviews I could find online, but this is a really good camera that I purchased on sale for $40. It works great and the video is great. The little cover that covers the connection points and the SD card is flimsy so don't know how long that will remain attached, but it does not affect the operation of the camera. The waterproof case works perfectly.

Having never had an "action camera" wasn't sure what to expect, easy to set up and use, pictures is good although no matter how steady its held, shakiness is an issue, the worst part though is the battery life, which is non existing, used once for 28 minutes turned it off and went to use it again and the battery was just about dead.

This is the second Vivitar action camera I've purchased and again the price is Right! Great for a beginner.

For that price you cannot expect an actual "GREAT QUALITY". Quality is fine. But there is a very important point: I ran the camera at 30fps and in 5 minutes the battery was half gone. I don't know if its just the battery that is not good or if it simply does not perform well. Vivitar has to find a solution for this recurrent issue (I read many reviews) An "Action Camera" is supposed to last long to capture all of the action, not just the first 10 minutes.

We are not professionals. We just wanted something to take to Disney World. This little guy comes with lots of accessories and the battery lasted a little over an hour of recording time. FYI at 1080p it uses about 8gb per hour and is decent quality, especially outdoors.

The video quality is not bad at all. The app stinks, theres only audio if you pull the video off the camera form you computer. The battery life stinks and theres almost no way to find extra batteries. But all in all its a good replacement on the cheap.

It’s very good camera you will get good Quality picture

if it is on sale you should buy it for the cheap price. It was worth the price for what it is. No sound but picture and stability is worth it.

In the daylight it does a very good job. Nice quality, at night its okay. One for the price you cant complain. The only "bad" is battery life. Specialy when wifi is on connected to the phone. I bought it on sale for 70. And i dont give it a 5 because of the battery life. Other than that price is great for the bundle.

Camera works fine. Battery has a short life. Reached out to Vivitar about a battery replacement, they never responded.

Easy to use and plenty of hardware for mounting it. The battery life is nothing to brag about but the price is easy on the wallet and it does exactly what its supposed

I purchased my camera to use for fishing trips. Didn't want to spend the money for a Go Pro. Boy, did I make a mistake!! The camera itself is perfect for what I wanted. Actually takes nice pictures and videos. The problem is the battery. Oh what a problem!! I completely charged the battery as the instructions stated for the first time and turned on the camera on. All was well until I turned on WiFi. The battery IMMEDIATELY went from green battery indicator (full charge) to 1/4 percent left on the battery and a low battery warning!! ALL I did was touch a button, no photos, no videos, just turned on WiFi and the battery died! I would honestly have to say, BEWARE. This is a nice camera/package but you can't use it because the battery dies when you turn it on.

I love my GoPro but it was pricey! The Vivitar not only fits my wallet and I can use my GoPro attachments with it! Now I have one facing forward on my Harley helmet and one on the bike facing backwards which came in handy with insurance agent when I was hit by distracted driver!
