You get more than what you pay for, Is just a plain camera, but the waterproof case itself justify the price.

Purchased this morning for $49.99. I was excited to get home and dig into it as I’ve wanted a GoPro for a long time but couldn’t spend that kind of money.
Hardware seemed pretty good. Camera appears well built along with the waterproof case it comes with.
Software loaded in camera is a JOKE! The menu has words completely misspelled but I let that slide and wanted to test out the camera. Snapped a couple pictures and a short video. Those looked decent on the built in screen so I went to delete them and the screen locked up and looked like a bad signal on a TV channel. I tried rebooting it, guessing by holding the power button down which took the screen to black and then to the main boot up screen which locked up there with the logo partially off screen. (Photos attached)I never got it to boot up again and can’t turn it off. The screen is black, power light is on and it’s getting hot.
This is a “Best Buy Exclusive” and appears to be the most basic Vivitar model with no mention of it on the manufacturer website. It appears to lack Time Lapse mode, or at least I can’t find it in the screwed up menus and there is no instruction manual in the box or online.
I’ll return it after my daughter’s nap!

A decent cheap "No-Pro". I got this for $56 on June 25, 2018 at Walmart in Maui. It takes good video when it goes, even if it's jerky. Framerates at 4K drop to 10fps which is not great for fast action video, but good for slow moving high detail shots. 1080p which still looks great on most displays goes at 60fps which seems quite crisp. Inside the waterproof shell, it did not leak when I went snorkeling with it. Audio was very hit and miss; some video had audio, some not, mostly not useful for making videos to post. You will need an extra mounting kit. Battery life was a bit limited. It ONLY supports up to a 32GB CARD. I had to buy a smaller card after the fact to make this work. Another BIG problem is to be sure it is NOT in time lapse mode. I lost pretty much ALL my underwater shots due to it being in timelapse mode and a 10-15 min video was over in 2-3 seconds. Timelapse is no use at all on this camera since your battery will be gone before you can shoot your whole video. Just be sure it's NOT in time lapse and you're golden for some action video at 1080p, and some slow shots at 4K. As always, read your owner manual, not included but available to search online.

If you want a GoPro but don't want to pay the price, go borrow from your 401K and spend the money anyway. If you want a decent little camera that will give you adequate but not "best ever" pictures and videos for a much better price, then buy this little guy.
I bought it to take on vacation so we could take pics and video of the family splashing around at the pool and the ocean without dragging my DSLR or (ridiculously over-priced Galaxy Note) to the water. This thing is waterproof, sturdy, and takes pretty good images. The videos are better in my opinion, but that may be because I have a really good still camera.
All in all, it's worth the money.

We've used this camera several times now. Always turned on & worked as expected. At first I had a problem with the camera recognizing the microSD card. Turned out I needed to format the card first. The card must be formatted in the camera (didn't know that). Once I figured out the formatting issue it worked perfectly. The case seems rugged. It's definitely waterproof (at least it's swimming pool proof). The attached preview / view screen is clear and easy to see. Menus are easy to navigate and understand.

Bought this little camera for my boy scout son to take on a canoe trip but first tested it on a family tubing trip down the river. Camera worked great in the rain and water and got some nice photos. two down sides the battery at full charge died before the trip was over (3 hours floating) and the remote watch that comes with it is not waterproof at all.

These little cameras are great for the price (deal of the day). They work well, have a decent picture and are waterproof, so kids can use them in the pool. They are also great to give as gifts because they are relatively inexpensive and the recipient can use them as they would the more expensive types of these cameras.

I bought this item for my grandkids on the deal of the day. I figured for $25.00 plus the cost of a 32 gb card they could have some fun with it. I charged it for them and it took several hours to get to a full charge. I tried it out and both the still and movie functions worked well. It is obvious that indoors you need to have lots of light but outdoors it worked fine in sun and shade. I used it for a short time, possibly 5 minutes and the battery was down about 25% which does bode well for a long battery life. I have an older GoPro that doesn’t have a viewing screen so being able to see what I was shooting was nice. Having a bicycle and helmet mount in the box along with a wearable remote was a plus. The grandkids are using the water proof housing and so far no leaks. Is it a GoPro, no, but for the money it has been worth the smiles on the kids faces.

The Vivitar action camera is an inexpensive beginners choice. The camera takes good quality wide angle action shots. if you are looking for taking shots from a distance, the Vivitar does not offer a zoom. The Vivitar camera is very easy to use with the helmet and bike connectors and works well with a osmos style handheld unipod.

This is a very nice camera, with a water resistant case, but the camera can be used with or without the case. It is very small, and lightweight, yet takes very nice quality full motion fast action video.

Haven't had time to use it a lot, but am happy so far. Own a nice camera that isn't rugged or waterproof, so this is what I wanted. Also like the very small size, fits in your palm. Images are fairly decent, 12 pixels, good for the price of an action camera.

I forgot to pack my Sony action camera for our Hawaiian vacation, so looked for a cheap option. This fit the bill at under $50. I tried it first in it's waterproof housing in the lagoon, but immediately noticed fogging on the case - water was getting inside the housing. The camera then failed to turn on. I returned it to Best Buy and they gave me a replacement, which I decided NOT to use underwater and only for it's intended purpose - zip lining. Here it worked beautifully. Easy to turn on and off with the wrist control and videos good enough for watching on the computer (haven't tried it yet on high def TV). So, overall happy with the light investment. For the cost, it was great.

Light weight and relatively easy to use. The following can be improved: strap clips essentially useless; wrist band remote control could be better; like to have more options in time to over-write

It works ok for video only because of the case. Picture is OK and audio is just meh outside of the case. If you intend to use in the case around water expect to get picture and video only. I’m a bit disappointed the camera stops recording after about 15 minutes regardless of battery life or memory space. This will not replace your GoPro but for the price you get what you pay for.

I saw this on the Deal of the Day and it was a fair price, so I got it. I mainly wanted it for my toddler son who loves to ride his Strider bike, play sports, and just had a lot of reactions to different things, so I wanted to be able to at least hear him, not so much pay attention to the video itself.
The quality is what you'd expect from a low-end action camera. There's no way for me to transfer via wifi or anything like that, but I found a way to connect a USB cable from the camera to my phone and transfer it that way--cutting the middle man aka laptop.
The volume is kind of low, even at full volume on whatever device Im using to view the view. But for the price I bought it for, I can't complain too much.
My son loves that it's his own camera. The kit came with a helmet strap and bike handlebar attachment. I ended up buying a chest strap and modifying it so that it fit his tiny toddler body so I could record his reactions at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He ended up having a good time and was not bothered by his camera at all.
All in all, if I wanted to record more quality stuff, Id get a GoPro but this is perfectly fine for my intentions.

Giving this as a Christmas gift so I haven’t used it but I’m hoping the person can jump on a pool and use it under water also on beach vacations.
