Returned first one after a week's use. Cam failed to boot up right after charging. Replacement unit does boot up, this time around, it just shows the 'Vivitar' but does not load all the way. Icon labels are spelled incorrectly. Planning to return again this week but won't ask for a replacement any more.

The button on the top with the camera on it stopped working so I opened the camera up and the button switch is very poorly made. The back side of the switch basically exploded from the pressure of the button being pressed. Buy cheap and get people cutting costs on basic components I guess.

I took this back after buying. The video quality was too low.

My son bought this instead of the Go Pro, totally not worth it

i purchased this and originally had to exchange it because it wouldn't turn on. The replacement records audio but only displays a still image. Don't buy.

Used this one time and the button to take pictures broke. We bought this to take to Galapagos Islands and missed out on many pictures bc it broke. I am beyond sad.

I recommend you do not buy this. It is a horrible camera. Doesn’t stay recording for longer than 5 minutes. Shuts itself off.

Not as good as Vivitar claims it is. I ended up returning it the same day I bought it.

Bought this for my kid. Terrible quality. Bummer, was hoping for the better.

My GoPro Hero3 died a week before my vacation, so I needed to get something quick but didn't have the funds for a new GoPro at that time. The price point on this was great, and reviews seemed to be pretty decent...... This thing is terrible, and you get what you pay for. It worked for about a week before completely dying. In that week, it did take some decent video, but the pictures were always a bit blurry and out of focus. On more than one occasion in the first week, the camera froze and wouldn't turn off. I had to wait until it either died, or until I was in a place that I could find something small enough to get to the reset button. The case is absolute junk and would open on its own while swimming with it in hand. Now it doesn't turn on at all. Just save up your money and get a GoPro. Stay away from this junk. Returned.

I know the camera is only $49. But I am used to quality images and videos from samsung smartphones or canon point and shoot cameras. I wanted to like the camera and the price was much cheaper the gopro. The packaging, form factor and construction quality look good. I took several pictures walking, stationary and I even hooked it into my car as an auto cam. The pictures looked okay for the megapixels. But on the first zoom in, the pictures are blurry. The fidelity is not to my liking. The videos were the same. I put it in the car and took pictures of things moving by and I could not read signs or license tags. The pictures and video do not look great on a 1080p TV compared to other media. If you just want stuff to share on social media, this is probably a good camera. If you want to do screen shows or do some video editing, not so good. Most likely I will take back to BB. Thinking if the 4k version is the same.
