Software issues. Apps didn’t work. Couldn’t connect Bluetooth while streaming from hdmi. The speaker is worthless. Wouldn’t load videos from the airplay app. I took it back and got an lg. Night and day difference in the operating systems. This thing is a piece of junk I spent hours trying to get it to work, but I had the same issues the others had that wrote similar reviews.

    Technical snags

The remote does not work. The focus is electric and extremely hard to work with. Was never able to set it to the right focus. Picture brightness too low. I bought the LG PH550 and though it’s only 720p and 550 Lumens , Rich colour, picture quality , brightness and contrast ratio beat this one even though 800 Lumens and 1080p. Android is slow. Did not try wireless connection. One better thing is resolution, the pic is not bright enough but resolution is fantastic.

I bought this after purchasing the LG pf50ka. Returned that since though had smart tv could use amazon prime on it without buying separate streaming stick. This one not labeled as smart though comes with some sort of android operating system. I was able to download amazon prime and though not greatest interface log in. Have some issues with wifi but that might be due to bad signal from how far from router is from projector since using outside. Able to download movies onto the 8gb of available memory so not an issue. The speaker is weak but should not expect much from a 3w speaker. I used an charge 3 bluetooth speaker and worked fine. Had some issue when connected device to a roku express but that might have been more the roku express since it does not have built in bluetooth though since did come out of the vivitek. Overall if looking for portable, pocketsize DLP projector with decent brightness and either already have streaming stiick or okay with apps available through android OS then this is a good option. Firmware / hardware issues prevent full use

The projector functions when you connect it to an HDMI source. However, there are a couple of major issues: 1) The sound is not functioning (full volume via HDMI about as audible as lowest possible volume setting on an iPhone) 2) Focus buttons crash the whole projector. Touching one of them shuts it down instantly. Looked for firmware updates, but this product doesn't even exist on Vivitek's website. Product could be good if issues are fixed, but it is not ready for the shelf.

Do NOT even THINK of purchasing this projector

Unfortunately, I did not read the previous reviews. There is a REASON this projector has one star. Horrible interface and could only connect through the HDMI port and MacBook. Wireless connection (wifi, bluetooth, hotspot) was completely non-functional and kept crashing. Brought it to the Geek Squad and eventually returned this and purchased an LG MiniBeam PH550.
