I almost returned the sound bar because of inability to program the DirectTV remote. After two calls to DirectTV tech support and a tech support man spending over two hours at my house, they were still unable to program the Remote Control. It took a third call to Direct TV before I was able to get it programmed properly.

Bought Vizio sound bar sb3s221n-e8m yesterday. Took down 7 ancient speakers. This was easy to hook up and I was amazed at the sound! Excellent for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$!

I was little skeptical to get this, which was on sale for Thanksgiving. Anyway decided to give it a try, and I was surprised to see that this sounder actually delivers. The Audio quality is awesome, and the base and the surround is pretty amazing. Just make sure that you place the sub in the corner of the room opposite to your location of the sound bar. Also place the Sub woofer driver facing the wall. Overall this is a good buy, I played movies, Music and games, everything gives a wonderful listening experience. I will recommend it, the only thing Iam concerned is how long it will last...

This sound bar works great. Multiple input options make it compatible with most any TV and they send a cable for every input. I set the unit up, turned it on, and the subwoofer was paired and everything was working as it should. Bluetooth performs just as it should. The only thing not to like is that there is not a screen to tell you information such as which input is selected, but for $100 this thing is awesome. If you are simply looking to upgrade the sound of a TV but not needing a full home theater setup you can't go wrong here.

This sound bar and subwoofer were extremely easy to set up straight out of the box. Being a “budget” sound bar I was worried that the sound quality might not be as solid as the more expensive options, but I am very impressed. The bass and treble are adjustable along with the subwoofer level. It works seamlessly with our smart tv, Xbox one and Apple TV. I don’t think I could be any happier with my purchase.

At first I could not figure out why this was getting so many good reviews. The sound was horrible. I had placed the bar one shelf down on my entertainment center. Turns out that this really effects the sound quality to the negative. Moved it on top shelf that the TV feet sit on and there was a night and day difference. I suppose all sound bars are designed to sit more in the open rather than a closed in location. Paid $109 around thanksgiving which is a steal for the quality.

4y back I bought this it's working still a new one and still working better

This was a Black Friday steal! The sound is clear, even when it is turned up to it’s loudest setting. The only gripe I have with it is that on the second day, none of the buttons (except volume buttons) on both the remote and sound bar were not working. And for some odd reason, the volume would randomly adjust to it’s max setting. I tried to troubleshoot myself until I decided to just call tech support. The last thing we did after playing around with buttons and unplugging, was a reset (Duh!) But it fixed all the issues I was having. Despite that little hiccup, I still love the affordability and sound of this sound bar. Tech support was also extremely patient and helpful.

Others have written longer reviews of features and such but I will just say that I am pleasantly surprised every time I turn my TV on. I had a very old DVD player with surround sound die (I only used the front speakers because of the wires issue). I did a bit of research, went to Best Buy for a listen and bought this Vizio bar on the spot. No regrets at all. I know there are $1,000+ sound bars and I'm sure they are awesome but this one suits my situation just fine. Also, I had wondered about whether my Tivo remote would operate it. My Best Buy sales rep didn't event think it would. But it does! That is a big deal for me. I don't want to work two clickers. Anyway, very good product for a good price.

I originally purchased around bar that was $150 more than this one, and it sounded terrible. After some online research I decided to try this one out. It has exceeded every expectation I had and it was far cheaper than my original purchase. The sound is great, and the subwoofer makes it sound like a complete home theatre system. I would highly recommend.

My last soundbar was over 10 years ago. I got rid of it after a month. This soundbar and subwoofer is light years beyond my old one. Clear, precise sound, and with the sub, full to your liking. The sub can be adjusted for volume, or turned off if desired. Watching music videos on youtube on TV is now an experience. I am very happy with the audio. TV dialogue is clear. I must say that I replaced the original digital/optical input wire with a 6 foot ivanky. $7. Already good sound became superb. Placement of the sub is important, of course. Experiment. The back of the sub is where you can see the speaker, and where it plugs in, so this can be confusing at first. If you have a really big room, go with something more powerful. For the vast majority of TV rooms, this thing is great. For the price, it cannot be beat.

I’ve owned several sound bars and this one is by far the best bang for the buck. Sound quality is better than my $400 sound bar. The only reason I don’t use this model anymore is because it doesn’t have and arc hookup and I don’t like the display. If this model had those two things I’d buy 3 of them.

Very good sound when streaming music, but not so great for television. Auto on/off does not work with optical cable and dialog is buried behind music or sound effects on every setting. Unit has been returned...

Purchased soundbar today. After hook-up, sound bar and subwoofer worked. Sound OK for the price. However, remote does not work and the soundbar's LED indicators shown in the manual do not appear on the unit. Must use buttons on soundbar for all functions. A bit of a PIA for volume changes. Will need to call support right out of the box. Problematic.

I totally understand everything has a usable life, but I purchased this unit in December 2018 and it died today July 2021. Just under 3 years old. Just stopped working out of the blue. Not an audiophile, so for me, the unit worked just fine and the sound was significantly better than the TV speakers. Filled our entire family room. No setup problems and it worked like a charm until it didn't ... today. My complaint is I need to buy a new soundbar and this one will end up in a landfill. Sad that it didn't last. Therefore, can't recommend.

This thing sounds WAY better than I expected. I have it in my bedroom, so I can't speak to its ability to fill a theater. The sub sounds surprisingly crisp as well, despite being wireless. Very happy with this.

Very nice soundbar and the subwoofer is very good. I use it in my bedroom with the TV and having the subwoofer underneath the bed brings out the nice rumbles from movies.

Set up was easy. Sounds good with movies. However, gaming was a different story. Playing on a PS4 directly plugged in via HDMI was not as enjoyable. The highs where so bright they became ear piercing and ended up giving me a headache. I tried making adjustments through the sound bar, tv audio settings, and the PS4, but nothing helped. Tried playing different games a got similar ear piercing results. Being that I use my TV primarily for gaming, I ended up returning this product.
