Purchase if Picture Quality is all that matters

I gave this tv a chance based on the great CNET review and the low price. After a little calibration the thing came to life. The picture quality/black levels of this less than $500 tv smokes the two much more expensive Samsung tvs I've owned. This tv has no useless features like smoothing soap opera effect or 3D. The only negatives are the audio is very hollow and thin, to be expected from such a slim modern tv and the remote feels cheap. Neither one of these are real issues though. Most people will use a rock'n surround system for movies and a universal remote to control all their gear. If picture quality is the most important feature to you than this tv cannot be beat for the price.

My experience with Best Buy was fine. Vizio TV is another story. The T.V. will shut off randomly. It will not come on when you turn it on. Some times it takes 20 minutes or so for it to come on then with no sound. You then must turn it off and back on and hopefully the picture and sound will be on.

This was the 1st smart TV I purchased and I am very satisfied with my decision to go with Vizio. The picture is crisp and clear! I was a little worried about using the functions this TV offers but it is very simple, even for someone who is not very technologically advanced. Very nice upgrade from my 32" that is 5 years old.

    Excellent T.V. for the price

This TV is perfect for anyone wanting a big TV without the a big price tag. I do not care about having the latest technology (i.e. 4K resolution) simply because I don't want to pay for it. I did want a TV where I could watch my period piece shows like Downtown Abbey and see the detail of the costumes and surroundings. It's perfect! Good clarity and good color. My only complaint is the sound wasn't as good as I expected, but I already had a speaker system which I hooked up easily. Very happy with my purchase.

Vizio - Great brand, slightly underrated

I have thoroughly enjoyed all my Vizio TVs - first was a 42"(2007 purchase) , next a 60" (2013 purchase) and now these two 48"'s. I have noticed many other manufacturers TV's losing quality over the years, pixels missing, entire rows or columns of pixels going out, but my Vizios remain quality! I will continue to purchase, and hold on to my Vizio's or give them to my siblings, they are practically heirlooms lol Good TVs, I ALWAYS recommend them.

Good value. Image is very impressive for the price. 120Hz - 240Motion flow works nicely. 48" LED Smart Tv for $430 with all these specs and clear sharp image is one of the best deals out there. This Tv can easly compete with Tvs that run for $800 & up. Highly recomended.

Purchase tv at 1:50 pm. Installed and mounted on wall, had to get different mounting screws for 6mm receptacles vice standard 8mm. Set up was simple and easy, however it kept dropping my wireless signal. Called tech support and after a 15min hold got thru to somebody. Reset tv again to factory setting, great! Wireless worked again for about 20mins. Called them again and through the troubleshooting procedures found out that the wireless adapter had gone bad. This was at 4:50pm same day. Vizio promised an in home replacement 6-10 days from now. We will see if the customer service program holds up. Otherwise, picture is great on apple tv. Motion flow is good quality but reliability is definitely out the window. Other aspects of tv is that remote feels very cheap compared to my old series 8 samsung, interface is sluggish with remote. Good points: picture quality and lightweight. Tv is good if you have another means of tuning, if you're trying to use it for smart features go buy something else. Would definitely recommend to people i hate.

    Great at first.

I bought this tv, but after less than 2 months, the apps went out. It has a bad board and this was disappointing because I specifically bought it for the Netflix app. You are able to get on Facebook with the tv, but you really can't do much. After finally being able to get in touch with Vizio customer service, replacing the board, then the tv is a hassle.

    Not So Smart TV

Bought this as an open-box item, so I have to say it was great value at that price. However, if you are buying at full price I would avoid the Vizio 48" Smart (or any Vizio Smart) TV. First, the faces are Orange to a degree. I can get over that. Second, the wifi won't pick up my 5g connection, just my 2ghz one. Not a big deal, but the 5g is faster. Third, the sound is not great. It's not terrible either, but I don't want to go spend another $100 on a sound bar. I can deal with this as well. Fourth, and most importantly, this TV is NOT AS SMART as advertised. You get Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, but you don't have a browser, no WatchESPN app, etc. If you're wanting to ditch cable/satellite like we are and stick to online programming with sports (from ESPN or NBCSports) you can't do it. They have linked up with Yahoo and it is positively bad. The Yahoo Sports App has it's most recent video from 11/2/15. Nothing like sports a month and a half late! I would be upset it I bought this as my main TV and at full price. Don't get rid of your Apple TV, Roku, or Fire TV because you have this TV, you'll still need them.

    terrible motion blur

This tv has the worst motion blur I have ever seen. The "clear action" feature makes it worse. When "clear action" is on there are very distinct trails. I returned my first one and the second one is even worse.

I had to return this tv the first time I bought it because the way they had the tv packed, the screen got cracked. But after getting a replacement, this tv works great and is easy to use. Love the apps since I don't have cable.

Fine if you like orange faces

Bought this based on reviews. Sorry to say it did not live up to the positive reviews I read before buying. Straight out of the box the colors were terrible. The picture would look fine one minute and then suddenly faces would be orange. No matter how we tried to adjust the picture, it never got better. We have had Samsung TVs in the past with very few issues. Decided to try this one due to the reviews and price. Took it back today and ordered a Samsung. More money, but well worth it in my eyes.

I was not satisfied with this TV. It would restart itself and the picture quality was not something I wanted to watch. After spending the time setting it up, I promptly exchanged it for an LG.
