Good to get close to a 5.1 sound on a budget. If you have the cash I would shoot for a hard wired complete 5.1 audio system.

Surround sound is just ok. Not very good for just playing music. Difficult to balance sound. I expected better.

Kind of feel like the system was promoted too high and because it is the same brand as the TV really doesn't matter.

My wife and I purchased a new Samsung 65 in TV for Christmas to go in our living room. Being a bit of an audiophile and like the sound of a movie as much as the movie itself, I wanted a nice sounding surround sound system. Being a cheapskate at the same time, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one either. My wife, being the diligent researcher she is, found several online from Best Buy and several "other" retailers. The VIZIO - 5.1-Channel Soundbar System popped up several times as a good choice. The Sony HT-CT260 also was highly recommended, but I wanted the full surround sound experience not a nice sounding bar. We read several reviews on both. The term "WOW", "AWESOME" and "BLOWN AWAY" were used by several people talking about the VIZIO but not so much with the Sony. The Sony cost less, but I wanted the VIZIO. We pulled the trigger and purchased the VIZIO and haven't looked back. Setup was easy. The main sound bar goes in front of the TV and is hooked up using either the fiber optic or coaxial cable (both supplied) to the TV or cable box. It can also be mounted to the wall for a clean looking install. The rear speakers are wired to the subwoofer and it is wireless. This makes setup MUCH easier and cleaner without a bunch of wires run all over the place. We had it up and running in no time. Several times in watching a movie or TV show I would get up from my seat to turn off TV's in other rooms to stop the background noise only to realize the sound was the background noise of the movie, NOT sounds in my house. You not only can see explosions and action, you can FEEL them with the subwoofer. The only complaints I have, and they are very minor, is their is no HDMI hookups (I didn't need them so no biggie) and the remote is a little hard to read in the dark. Otherwise, the words "WOW", "AWESOME" and "BLOWN AWAY" describe this sound bar to a T.

Just purchased the Vizio 5.1 Soundbar system. First, was VERY easy to set up. Second, the sound is phenomenal! Plenty of cord lengths, in my opinion for setting up. Remote control is a little flimsy, but wouldn't let that hinder the overall quality of the unit. I have an exceptionally large room for the 60" and the surround sound system takes it all on stride. I had just purchased two Vizio tv's, a 60" and a 42". It seems with all the new slim line tv's, buying a soundbar is a must these days. The built in speakers in all the tv's are pretty much useless for listening to dialogue. The pricing is more than worth the cost of purchasing these Vizio soundbars.

I initially loved this product. It worked perfectly for the first month and had a great sound. However, now the subwoofer pops very very loudly and unpredictably. Vizio tech support has been useless and may need to return it to BestBuy.

I read a lot of reviews on this system before I purchased, and I must say I am very pleased. The sound quality of this system is phenomenal. I was blown away when I first turned it up. The subwoofer really pounds the base out. Setup was very simple and the settings are intuitive. I do agree with some of the other reviews about the lack of volume resolution, but it doesn't diminish the product that much to me. A backlight on the remote would also be nice. I really like the bluetooth feature paired with my tablet. Overall a very nice system that has exceeded my expectations.

I have trouble with the rear channel adjustments. The rear channel takes over in some modes and needs to be adjusted constantly. So I have not been using it. The Sub and the front sound good but I would spend more and get a better system if I could do it again

I received this sound system as a Christmas gift and I love it! It was super easy to set up. I love the fact that the sub and satellite speakers are wireless so I don't have a bunch of wires running through my living room. The sound quality on the soundbar even in 2.1 sounds great to me, but in 5.1 it sounds awesome! It doesn't take up much more space than the previous sound bar I had (iLive 2.1 soundbar) and has a much better sound. I also love the bluetooth capability so I can bluetooth my music from my phone to the soundbar for an awesome listening experience. I definitely recommend this product.

It was pretty difficult to hook up. The main speaker is great but we have YET to figure out how to get the back speakers working. I would just spend the money on the sound bar and forget the back speakers

If you're not getting an audio from the rear speakers, there are a few things to check on. First- make sure that the sub-woofer and sound bar are paired. The quickest way to do this is to check the light on the back of the sub-woofer. If the light is solid, you're paired. If the light is blinking, you need to pair the soundbar and sub-woofer. (there are instructions on page 19 of the quickstart guide). There is also a setting in your soundbar that will turn the surround sound feature on or off. Press the menu button on the remote, and use the Up arrow until the remote's screen says 'SURND'. Once 'SURND' is displaying on your remote, use the 'back' and 'forward' keys on the remote to make sure it says 'SURND ON'.

Literally read 100's of reviews before i bought this system and kept coming back the the Visio 5.1 for quality and price... glad i did. It took me a whopping 30 minutes to do the basic set up (little more time to mount the bar on the wall, etc.), but very simple. Sound quality is great.... had to play with the balance for the room we have, but again... pretty easy with this system.
Wishlist - remote doesn't have a backlit display... would be great. The output display is very simple and on the sound bar, which is good in some respects, but corresponding meters for the outputs would make the process a lot easier.
Despite the wishlist... love it. Buying a second for another room tomorrow. If it were priced any higher, I probably would not, but its a great deal.

I bought my sound bar the day before yesterday and it s awesome! The setup was fast and easy, I love the sub-woofer, it gives me the "at the theater sound quality' I love the long sound bar and the smaller speakers in addition to the sub-woofer. I do not know how I watched television before having one. I am now spoiled. I also liked being able to pair the Bluetooth with my phone so I can play music. No more need for an old fashioned stereo system. Considering I only bought the sound bar day before yesterday at this time I have no complaints. All cables came with the device so I did not need to buy additional cabling...that was also a huge plus.

I am not very much impressed by this soundbar. However as it was very cheap in sale price, I bought it but soon I had to return and replaced by another manufacturer.
