great soundbar.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i first purchased the lg Model: NB3530A SKU: 8162081 unit. it was rTed very highly. if you want my opinion on that unit, please reference http://www.bestbuy.com/site/2.1-Channel+Soundbar+with+Wireless+Subwoofer/8162081.p?skuId=8162081&id=1218864519395#tab=reviews as for this unit, it is excellent. i immediatly fell in love with these speakers. the sub kicks out a good deep low end with a nice punch while the back and front speakers have a good clean mid and high range. the one thing i really love about this unit is the wireless sub and rear speakers. this really helps give you a real surround sound experience. it comes ready to assemble including all the wiring tht you would need. i had it paired and up and running in less than 5 mins..

Great sound value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this setup and going in under 15 minutes. Another 15 minutes and I had it mounted on the wall. With minimal adjustments this sound bar sounds great paired with my Vizio 70" TV.

Mediocre audio, Overpriced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: Overpriced considering the medioacre sound quality, but if you insist on having wireless satellites this is currently the only system to offer this feature. For people who don't have high demands of their Home Theater System, this system will get the job done. Unit came well packaged and setup was a breeze. After hooking up the Vizio S4251W-B4 soundbar to my Vizio XVT473SV HDTV and HTPC via optical, I began listening to music and test driving some movies, Dolby Digital and DTS Trailers. While everything produced an overall satisfying sound, the audio was not particularly crisp or warm. While movies fared slightly better than music, there was a very noticeably lack in fidelity across the board. The various Instruments did not stand out against each other and the bass and midrange sounded muddy while the Treble sounded tinny. My stereo Audioengine speakers the Vizio soundbar replaced put out a far better soundstage and clarity. Overall there was no lumincance when listening to music on this soundbar and while the bass packs quite a nice punch it easily overwhelmed everything else. The soundstage is very small with front left, Center and front right barely distinguishable from one another. In fact the only time I noticed any difference was when running dedicated Dolby, DTS or THX trailers which only address a single speaker at a time. Even then the difference between left and right was not always very noticeable and the rear speakers echoed the sound being produced by it's left or right counterpart making it hard to tell if the sound was coming from rear left or rear right. I found the setup impossible to calibrate, especially when it came to the rear satellites. Surround sound was too far in the front or too far in the back. When watching a scene from the Lord the Rings in 5.1, the pitter-patter of the rain was either in the back of the room or at the front rather than immersing me from front and back evenly as if standing in the thick of a rainstorm. (The rear satellites were about 9 ft from the back of my couch, with the soundbar being slightly less than 9 ft in the front). The soundstage for the front left, center and right speaker is way too small with the 3 channels being indistinguishable from each other. With the exception of trailers designed to address each channel separately, there is no difference between front left, center and right and even then one has too pay attention to be able to tell. The subwoofer itself was able to produce a nice "Oomph", not room shaking but delivering loud bass without any distortion. The remote control is pretty nice with a minimalistic design and features onboard LCD readout. The LCD readout however does not provide realistic feedback. Even when not communicating with the soundbar it would still display it's various functions as if changing a setting, giving the illusion a setting had been changed even though it was in fact not. In other words, if the remote is not communicating with the soundbar, the LCD display will still give you the visual feedback making you think a setting has been changed. Ultimately you will still have to squint across the room to rely on the soundbar's row of LED lights to confirm any changes when pushing buttons on the remote. In short, this is not a bad unit if you're looking for surround sound on the fly, but the lack of fidelity and surround sound immersiveness does not make this soundbar the best choice. If the unit was in the sub 200 price range I might have been inclined to rate this unit 3 stars, but not at the current price point of around 330. But if you insist on wireless satellites this may be your only choice and that may be exactly what Vizio is banking on by introducing this system at this price point. Hopefully other manufacturers will take Vizio's lead and come up with something similar that sounds better.

Best sound bar for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 Visio sound bars in my home. I don't ever think I woud buy a Visio TV with all I've heard but you can't go wrong with this sound bar. It is wall mounted above my New 65" Samsung 3D HD TV. I live in an apartment and I must watch the time in the evening because this would keep my neighbors up all night. The walls vibrate just like in the Theaters. Amazing product. Yes it is surround sound. If you want to waste your money then go buy something expensive. I spent 2K on my TV and my Visio Sound bar makes my TV sound awesome.

Good Speaker Package - One Big Issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Vizio 5.1 S4251W-B4 is a very nice setup if you are looking for a simple, easy to use solution. The wireless sub and read satellite speaker setup is excellent for reducing wire clutter in the room. Keep in mind the rear satellite speakers do have wires to the sub box itself, which in turn does have a power cable - so it's not completely wireless, but it does remove the need to run wires from the front of the room to the rear. One thing to keep in mind - I wasn't able to determine what technology the wireless audio component uses and to that end, not sure if you are losing audio quality, but it sounds good. Setup was easy enough. I have a Blu-Ray player, a computer, and a Roku box connected to my TV - then I use the optical audio out (toslink) to send the audio to the speaker system. If you are wanting to use the speaker as the A/V hub - you are out of luck. I'd suggest a true A/V Receiver setup. My one big issue with this setup, and another VIZIO speaker setup I had, was the volume steps were too large. I either have to listen to the volume just a tiny bit too quiet, or a tiny bit too loud. I wish it finer steps. It has many steps, but I find the lower 1/3 is plenty loud - meaning I never go above that, and as a result I basically am limited to 1/3 the number of volume steps as I'd like.

Overrated
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Concept is great. Top notch sound bar with a wireless sub-woofer and rear speakers. However, the product is far from flawless. I connected this to my brand new Vizio 60inch LED with ease. Now, you would think a Vizio product should work flawlessly with another Vizio item, however this is not the case. The sound was off. Lips didn't match sound. I had the digital cable connected to my Direct TV box and to the sound bar. Apparently this is a common issue with these sound bar systems. Using the analog cables directly helped, but sound was mediocre and not true 5.1 digital sound. The optical cable is the best, but there's only one connection so you cannot have it hooked up to to BluRay player and watch regular programming. When it works, it isn't bad. But watching sports is a poor experience. You only hear the crowd from the back speakers and the announcers from the front. It sounds awkward. If I could have done it over again, I would not have purchased this.

Awesome for entry level sound.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound bar looks great under my 50". Once I got the Bluetooth to sync up to the sub woofer and positioned the satellite speakers in the correct part of the room the surround sound kicked in and we were good to go. Sounds Awesome!

AWESOME SOUND SYSTEM!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system is excellent for small/medium size living rooms. Crystal clear sound, great bass , and great surround sound. I went through a few sound bar (mostly samsung 450 and 550) before I bought this one and I am very very impressed with it's sound quality compared to the others (price was great too) It was very easy to set up and box included everything you need to get it up and running (optical/digital cable, wall mounts). I synced my Harmony 650 remote with this and it works flawlessly. I'm very happy with the quality of this product.

Good value for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is a great value for the money. I wish it had more inputs (hdmi), but obviously that would cost more money. Sounds great and easy to operate. Sometimes it does feel like that it doesn't switch inputs properly (sound wont come out).

great sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system is simply amazing! I have had other surround systems b4. This is the simplest to setup and sounds awesome. The 6 inch sub packs a strong punch! Don't let the size fool you! I liked the first one so much that I bought a second unit for my bedroom. Just plug in all the connections, plug in the sub, hook up the rear speakers and you are off to a great movie theater experience! Highly recommend!

NOT compatable with an AVR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is good and setup is easy. My biggest complaint is the restriction of not being able to send audio to it from my receiver. The result of this limitation is my DVD player, which is hooked to my AVR, can not send audio to this sound system. Had I not been ignorant of this fact, I would not have bought this system.

SUPER GREAT SOUND FOR THE PRICE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit due to limited space at home and hoping this will do the job........wow.........such a simple system that packs a brutal punch. Worth every cent. Rich sound. Easy install and only 4 wires to hook it all up. 6" bass is way more then what you would expect. Picture Frames shake. Please do it to your self and get one. You won't be sorry

Great sound and clearly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I purchasef this system after trying a Sony sound plate which failed miserably in comparison to a regular soundbar with subwoofer. I then tried a pioneer soundbar and sub worked ok but also failed this me is great the rear speakers connect at the sun and is very conveinent the two rear speakers make the world of difference and true surround sound can't be matched by just a sound bar and sub

Poor product support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great for 5 months and failed. Would not turn off unless completely unplugged from power cord. VIZIO sent replacement and after 7 months the replacement is experiencing same symptoms. Zero support from VIZIO as well as Best Buy. Neither sound bar lasted beyond the twelve month warranty. Quite frustrating as this was purchased along with a VIZIO tv that were both highly recommended by the sales person at the store. Paid premium price for both. Look at an alternate product than VIZIO. They absolutely drop you after the sale.
