This is my first home theater system and it is awesome value for money.
Setup time is less than 5 minutes (including unboxing). it works seamlessly with any device either tv, gaming device or bluetooth enabled device. Sounds quality is awesome too. it feels the room with grate sound and makes you feel like you are in cinema. Go for it.

Excellent soundbar system

This system with (soundbar ,sub and 2 satellite speakers ) replaces my sony system with only sub and soundbar .The sony didn't have enough volume on some channels. I have been using this for 3 weeks and I love it .Easy to set up and the sound is outstanding on all levels. The soundbar is clear ,the sub puts out a ton of base and the satellite speakers make it sound like your in a theater. Sounds great with music as well.My wife and I love this speaker system. The remote is great too,it is small and designed to only adjust the system "as it should be."It's very symple to make adjustments to the sound as your needs change such as listening to music watching news or watching an epic movie .I did good on this one for sure..oh ! And it gets REAL LOUD TOO !

Great and SUPER POWERFUL!!

Let me first start off by saying I bought this based off of reviews. I wanted something inexpensive yet just as powerful as all the other brand names like bose and Sony and Samsung. This vizio let me tell you, is by far one of the best out there and it exceeded my expectations beyond belief. I have a big living room and my width across from my TV to the back of the room is 27 feet this product range for Bluetooth connectivity for the subwoofer is 25 feet. I was cutting it close and it was working perfect until my luck ran out and it started to disconnect. Because my open floor plan the only place I can have the subwoofer now as well as the two extra speakers is high above but behind the bar itself. And I have the subwoofer the side. The surround sound isn't as great in the front as it should be behind the couch but it's seriously good enough that's how powerful this system is that I can't really tell much of a difference. Just make sure your living room isn't more than 25 feet wide then you have no problem with putting the subwoofer and extra speakers behind you, it 10 x more powerful in my opinion. And if you're into bass this system is for you, highly recommended. But whether if you connect your speakers and subwoofer right behind your bar its just as good and just as powerful. For moviegoers I suggest you put it behind you couch as for me I'm more of the music player and the base is ridiculous in front of your couch or behind your couch.

I purchased this soundbar system 6 months ago. For the most part it has lived up to high standards. That is, until today! I was watching a movie and it just clicked off and will not come back on. Absolutely no power is coming from the soundbar itself. The subwoofer (on a seperate plug) still has power. I am attempting to contact Vizio, but no answer yet. For $350, which is the higher end of soundbars at Best Buy, I would expect a longer life than 6 months!!!

The sound is AMAZAING! - Only needed a few tweaks to get it right where I wanted it.. Can't beet the price either. My only complaint is the remote does not have a backlight for making adjustments in the dark

Just purchased this sound bar yesterday after seeing it in the store the day before. I've had my eye on the older version of the Vizio 5.1 sound bar for probably two years now, but never pulled the trigger due to the tall unattractive design. This unit has been shortened by an entire inch so it doesn't block and of my picture. It's also been updated to be much more refined and all around sexy. The aluminum accents with the deep black metal mesh look great.
On to the sound. I have always seen great reviews on the older unit, so I was surprised to find a CNet review that put this unit below the last generation. Their main complaint was the overpowering subwoofer. I decided to make the purchase anyways and try it out for myself. Upon first trying out the unit on a couple of high action movie trailers, I understood the subwoofer complaint. My walls were shaking and the wires behind the unit were rattling. It was way too loud. My first reaction was to lower the bass through the options on the remote. This just made the sound come across as very weak. I explored more options and found an actual setting for subwoofer volume. I brought it down all the way which made it sound like nothing was even coming from the subwoofer. CNet complained that it was too loud after lowering this setting all the way, but that wasn't the case for me. The sub volume is very adjustable and can be brought to a comfortable level for anyone. I have mine set between the default setting and 0.
Overall the sound quality is phenomenal considering the price point of this sound bar system. There were a few points throughout the movie Super 8 where the sound was almost a little too piercing, but I'm sure that after some more time with the unit I'll get all the levels adjusted to my liking. Nothing beats having a sound bar with true 5.1 surround. If you crave that full movie theater sound experience, but don't have a ton of money to spend, this may just be the perfect sound bar for you!

First time VIZIO buyer - best buy literally!

This review is for VIZIO SB4051-C0 5.1 sound bar system. I was skeptical at first to even look at this product other than brands such as Bose, Sony or Samsung but once I started going through reviews and features this product offered for the price point, I didn't find anything else to rightfully justify why I shouldn't be buying this product. Frankly speaking, I am not a die hard brand loyal when it comes to speaker systems and above all, I was looking for a unit that wouldn't set me back much (around $300 since I had a Best Buy gift card :)). Also the most important feature I was looking for was a wireless rear surround speaker that was not offered by the above mentioned brands for the price point since I didn't want to run any speaker cables above the carpet between the unit that connects to the TV /player and the rear surround speakers.
Product features:
Pros:
* wireless sub-woofer and surround rear speakers. My sub-woofer is about 12 ft from the sound bar.
* The wires for the rear surround speakers are quite long (maybe about 10 feet each that connects to the wireless sub-woofer)
* the remote is fairly easy to use with 1 line led display and the manuals provide good directions on how to use its features
* can pair your own TV remote to the speaker system so same remote can be used for both the sound bar and TV but I haven't used this setup yet
* comes with Eco mode so the speakers go to stand-by if it does not detect sound inputs for prolonged periods
* has the TruVolume (DTS) and Surround features which work pretty well. My room has a setup where the distance between TV and the sofa is roughly 10 feet.
* sub-woofer has enough punch to provide a theatrical experience and the sound is comparable to Samsung and Sony and perhaps even Bose.
Cons:
* only concern I have is that the led display and the controls on remote could use a backlight since it is hard to use the remote when little or no light in the room. However, if you decide to pair your TV remote to the system, I guess this won't be a problem.
Having said all this, I am completely satisfied with the purchase especially from Best Buy since they also price matched this product with the same model in a local retailer's website.

Pairs at random when it chooses. Loses pair at random. Tells me sound bar is off or too far when my iPhone is sitting 3 feet away, next to, on top off. Nothing. Then a battle to get it back to recognize a wired connection. Complete waste of $200. Definitely don't buy.

Surprisingly Good Sound

I have always been a fan of floor standing speakers for superior sound, but space limitations negated that as an option for a (large) bedroom installation. I did a lot of online research before deciding on this sytem, but it all paid off. The system is a real surprise to these old ears, delivering smooth yet full response across the sound spectrum and providing a very vivid HD soundfield.
The purchase from Best Buy cost me a few more bucks than I could have purchased it for online, but past experiences with manufacturers' customer support vs that of Best Buy made the extra expense worth while.
Since this purchase included a Vizio TV, I used the services of the Geek Squad for installation. Nick called in advance, was timely in arriving, and did the Geek Squad's usual professional job in getting me set up, including answering my questions and demonstrating the uses of the remotes.

Great sound in movies and music. The wall mounting is horrible cause the mounts are far away from the wall so when the bar is hooked into the mounts it leans forward cause of the gap. So up close its ugly but far away not really noticeable.
The sub literally cannot be blocked my anything. I have it behind a side table(tv tray) and it cuts out if I move the tray.. was really hoping to put behind the couch but it wont even connect. Satellite speakers seem to have a lot of white noise.
Will update if anything else pops up. Only watched one movie and about an 30 minutes of low volume music.

Bass can not handle movies, and satelite speakers are glitchy. The stereo often mutes itself while watching a tv show. I bought the stereo based on strong reviews, and very disappointed.

Considering the price, this item has the best bang for the buck. Design, built quality, and sound are all good. It is very easy to install and truly changes your movie/gaming experience especially in small-medium rooms. The only negative side is that for some, the subwoofer may sound too bassy which can reduce the volume and clarity of dialogues.

Good sound. I had to adjust TV and sound bar to "lessen" the base. It took some time to "tweak" but the sound is great. The surround sound is very effective. I went from a 2.1 LG sound bar to this 5.1. Hugh different in sound. I would have given a 5 but I do not like the remote.

Better surround sound than bars that rely on sound bouncing off wall to simulate surround. Not the greatest sound out there but pretty good for the $$$. Good enough for a bedroom or smaller entertainment area.

I really love this thing. So easy to set up comes with everything you would need. Sub connects automatically. The remote has a digital display so everything looks really nice. Love the little lights on the side of the bar indicating sound and bass and so on. Awesome love it!
