I took three models/brands into consideration when making my leap into 4K. I will not name the other two as I feel they all offered a nice TV. I went with the Vizio M55 and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. After a few weeks of research and even speaking with a rep from another TV manufacturer, I went with the Vizio and the biggest reason why was it was the only tv in my range to offer Full Array LED. No other TV offers this technology at these prices. Others offer Full Array in their high end models for THOUSANDS more. Do some homework and find what Full Array offers over Edge Lit TV's and decide for yourself. I'm happy with the set up of the Vizio, menu system, amount of connections, and of course the picture quality. I can't comment on the sound quality as I'm not using the TV speakers, but the picture is stunning. Excellent contrast ratio and with a couple of days with playing with the settings, I can't imagine being happier with the picture with a TV without spending 5K! This is my first Vizio TV and so far, I'm not regretting it. The only downside to this TV, and others on the market, is that everyone seems to be going to a very wide stance on their legs of the set. This won't matter if you're hanging it, but if you're on a table or stand, you need plenty of length to hold the TV as they are not on a pedestal style base. Just make sure your stand is long enough if this applies to you. 43" on the 55" TV.

Bought the M-class Vizio for the competitive price point. Very easy to navigate the on-screen menus. Vivid color and enough customization options for any user - and these can be saved for individual users. Everything on the online description as in upon purchase. No problems. Extremely satisfied.

I bought this TV to go in my bedroom, it's my 3rd 4k Television set. I have a Sony XBR 55 and another Vizio 43" 4k from the same series as this 55". After over two years of using my Sony I was spoiled for 4K over 1080 sets. I wanted a TV larger than 50" for my bedroom but did not want to spend the money on a 1080 tv that honestly is dated tech. So, I purchased this TV. I could not be more happy with the set, it took about 30 minutes. To set up connect, register and calibrate the screen to my liking. Fantastic picture quality, active zone LED backlighting so no hot spots, my $3000 SONY has 2 and its Edge lit.... and a really easy to use remote with a full QWERTY backlit keyboard. My one and only complaint about the TV is the lack of multiple 4K 60hz inputs, there is only 1 capable of 60hz the others are relegated to 30hz in 4k. One other note, if you use the panel in 1080 it will do a true 120hz refresh rate not a gimmick rate. So Blu-rays are really nice! For the price you cannot go wrong with this great budget 4K Television.

I got this TV while it was on sale, and I would like to say that it was one of the best priced televisions on the market for this size and resolutions. I am glad that I got it because it worked really well. The picture quality was amazing. What I liked about this television is that it had 5 HDMI ports and that the remote had a key board on the back so that it was really easy to type.
I liked my television a lot, but apparently someone else did too. Someone stole mt tv less than 2 weeks after purchase. :/
But, all I can say is that this television is one worth stealing.

After reviewing TV's to purchase for nearly a month, I had narrowed it down between this TV and the same size/spec Samsung. The reviews for the Vizio were higher than that of the Samsung, and also several hundred dollars cheaper. I am thoroughly pleased with this TV and would recommend it to anyone wanting to purchase a 4k television. The keyboard on the back of the remote is an additional plus that has been very convenient when typing in search boxes etc. for Youtube/Netflix.

Love our new TV. Very easy to set up. Great picture! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the sound. Before adjusting the settings I had the volume all the way up and could hardly hear it. We went into settings and made a change and it's a lot better. Still would like to get a sound bar though. I'm technologically challenged but the remote and features are super easy to use. I would recommend this TV to everyone...especially if they plan to get a sound system of some type.

This TV is better than I expected. Very easy to set up. Picture is superb. I bought the Sony 4K Upscaling DVD Player at the same time in order to gain the Sony upscaling algorithm, which is the industry best. I did not get the 2015 Sony 4K TV because it's Android operating system is getting TERRIBLE reviews. Also, their 55" was $600 more. This is our third Vizio TV. No problems with them at all. The only thing missing is a ZOOM picture feature. It's only important for older content. So, it's not a big deal. We are going to get a 60" Vizio 4K TV soon.

The picture quality of this TV is fantastic. It has 5 HDMI ports so I have a place to connect all of my equipment . Blue ray, Tivo, Xbox, Platstation etc all have there own port and the TV allows me to save different picture settings for each input. The remote has a Netflix and an Amazon button, and a full querty keyboard to make searching for shows much easier and faster. Everyone in my house loves this TV.

I looked around and compared TVs before I decided on the Vizio - M-Series - 55 Class (55 Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Metallic Gray. I was going to go with a Westinghouse 55 inch 4K and was talked into this model by the salesperson in store and I'm glad that I changed my mind. Picture is crisp, TV is just the right size and this was a great value for what you get for the price. 4K may not be entirely necessary at this point, but soon it will and I will be even more happy with my choice. The smart options are easy to operate as well. Just all around a great TV for the price.

Love the Vizio. This is the second one I have owned and have always felt they are a great deal. Picture quality is great and it is easy to navigate. The only complaint I have is the sound isn't the best. I have to put the volume very high to hear and we have a small living room. We were planning to get speakers anyway so this doesn't bother me much. I think all these large tvs are intended to have speakers. They are so thin, its impossible to get great sound.

This is the best 55" TV you can buy for under $900. There are better options if you want to go up another $500. The Samsung 7500 is probably the first TV that is indisputably better, but you're lucky to find that for under $1,500. The black levels on the M series can be terrific, but it takes a lot of picture adjustments to get there. Be patient. The sound is better than I'd read. The motion blur is also better than I expected, and judder s non-existent. This is a great set for movies, very good for video gaming and good to very good for broadcast tv depending on the network. You won't be disappointed with the M55.

I'm near-sighted, and upgraded to this TV in the hopes that it would be easier for me to see. It is, but it's also FAR more than I expected. Fast, beautiful and crystal clear. Excellent TV. Only downside are the awful speakers. Only Sharp has decent audio in a flat panel, but their bottom-bezels are much larger as a result. I'm using it with an optical cable ran to my home theater, and it's perfect audio for everything.

I bought an open box / display model with some apprehension. I had 15 days to return the TV if anything was wrong. I left the TV on nonstop and played multiple video game systems to test every aspect of the TV. I have not been disappointing or have found any major issues. The TV has a energy saver built in, so the screen will turn off after a few hours, which threw me off the first time. After I realized this was normal I continued to test the TV. After a few weeks I noticed one minor issue. There are four shadows that appear in all four corners of the TV, most noticeable on a white screen. This is easily fixed by powering on and off the television and does not come back for days/weeks. It is random and not common and I attribute this issue to the television being a display model in the store or perhaps a heat or cable quality problem. I have had the TV for 2 months and I am highly pleased. I like all features of this TV including the layout of the remote and menu screen. The TV is easy to customize and the APP menu is easy to navigate. I would buy this TV again even at the full retail price. An additional note that may even help with the shadow issue is BUY HIGH QUALITY HDMI cables! I have never been much for "cable quality" due to the high price of the high end cables. Now, I am a believer. I can notice a considerable difference in the way the picture comes in from the cable box when using the 4K capable wiring. There are options that need to be setup in both the TV and CableBox to actually get the full HD quality signal. Also note that you wont get a FULL 4K picture because the providers do not broadcast in 4K yet. However, this TV will upgrade the signal coming in the best it can, so cable quality helps this function. If you buy this TV and play with the options to fit your needs you will LOVE it! And I would not worry about the shadowing issue.

So far I have been very impressed with this TV. The picture quality is good. The sound is not so good but most Tvs don't have great sound. The Vizio smart tv apps are ok. It would be nice to have a good app that streams from phones or tablets without any kind of subscription. Plex is a good app but it's still in the developmental stage. Overall I recommend this TV to anyone looking for an affordable tv without having to spend more money than they have in their budget.

After discussing televisions with a Best Buy employee in-store, I decided this TV would best fit my needs. When I first hooked it up and turned it on, I was a little disappointed with the picture. It didn't look anything like the one in-store. However, I adjusted the settings and got it to look much better.
The Netflix feature is AWESOME. I love just being able to push the button on the remote and going straight to Netflix. It has 5 HDMI ports, which was important to me. They are a little difficult to access, but that's no biggie. So far I don't have any issues with the TV.

After alot of comparison shopping before buying this particular model, I did my research on all tv brands. But when you see the picture on this tv...kinda seals the deal. Although there is not too much 4K stuff (yet) if you want to watch tv with the best possible picture without spending thousands, then this is the tv for you. Not to forget that I had a 10% off coupon due to a recent move, and guess which tv brand is not excluded from Best Buy's list of exclusions...VIZIO, which basically made this purchase a no brainer. Very easy to set up, but you may want to purchase the Vizio 3.0 Soundbar too, makes this tv even better!

I'm usually a Samsung follower but do to power supply issues in the last few tv sets I owned I figured I'd try someone else. I had a choice between this tv, a sony and a Samsung and they were all exactly the same in the $1200 price range.
Best part is? I got this set on sale for $960 out the door! As for the TV itself it's been great so far. The menu is very easy to navigate and is pretty nice looking for what it is. The apps work as they should and there is a decent variety of them to choose from. I really only use Netflix, Amazon and Hulu at the moment.
Streamed 4k looks pretty good, but I can't wait to see "real" 4k with less compression (like what you see in the stores) pretty soon. The first 4k BR Player has been announced so lets see how much that will cost us. I like sony's idea about having 4k movies on a hard drive "player" and wish Vizio could do something similar because there isn't much in the way of 4k anything at the moment (not the TV's fault of course).
The picture is solid, as is the coloring and every thing else you would expect. I really don't have any complaints with the set so far. Took a few minutes to set up and it all just works when you are done and ready to go. The only thing I can think of is that it takes up some space because of the TV's feet to stand up (not an issue if you are wall mounting) so make sure you have a semi wide surface to put it on.
Many others have gone deeper in a review so read those as well as I can agree with many of them. Solid TV and I would recommend it to anyone.
