Bought this TV primarily to play video games and occasionally watch movies. I was also looking for a Smart TV that had useful apps. The TV was very easy to set up. The picture quality is awesome. This TV is not connected to cable/satellite so the included apps are very useful. Bought a Vizio sound bar also as most TV's factory sound is not great. I have not watched any shows/movies using the factory speakers. Overall a great TV. Very happy with this TV and the price when on sale was great.

I had purchased this TV right before the Super Bowl to replace my 5 year old Dynex 55" 120hz LCD TV. And I am not disappointed. After the great job they did delivering and the initial setup of the TV. I played around with the setup and Walla!! My TV is great. I've watched sports and played My Xbox One & PS4 on it for hours. And had no lag or Motion blur. I think most of the motion blur and lag might be coming from antennae or satellite based systems since I do have Comcast. My only complaint is the sound which I ordered a Dynex Sound Bar. I have a Denon / Boston Acoustics Setup but don't want to turn it on every time I power up the TV.

Visio rocks! Great picture. Expected to have to do a lot of adjustments, but only turned down the backlight to 50%. Did a lot of research on this TV prior to its purchase. Do some research and you will convinced, as I was, that it's the best TV for the money. Has full array backlighting-found only in higher tier sets. Turn it on and there's the picture! No need to wade through a bunch of annoying Smart TV features to get to it like my prior T.V. I've had two top tier T.V.s before this Visio. One lasted three years, the other two. Bought a five year warranty on this-just in case. I think the picture on the Visio rivals the plasma I had two T.V.s ago. A peasant surprise- it even has a RCA output so I can plug my wireless headphones into it . Some people have complained about the remote. It could be a little bigger for us older folks .Does come with a full keyboard on its backside though. I don't usually get excited about purchases, but I love this T.V.

The TV itself is great. Easy setup, very little tweaking. Looks absolutely beautiful. The remote...not a big fan. Not programmable, and I don't understand why. My previous Vizio TVs had programmable remotes. Now I either have at least 2 remotes laying around or I go and buy a fairly expensive remote because the cheap ones don't provide easy access to the Vizio Apps. If you have cut the cord, this is the absolutely perfect TV for you, the Netflix, Amazon Hulu interfaces are excellent and the chromecast works well. If you have Satellite or Cable realize that the remote is limited.

This was purchased on a whim one night but I am really enjoying this tv. The picture quality is great, 4K content is beautiful (but still pretty rare) and switching between apps/tv is swift and seamless. My only negative is the sound quality on it's own is not great but sufficient. An external sound source is a definite need for maximum movie enjoyment but for everyday TV watching the tv sound is ok. I am still very happy with this tv.

I was originally looking at the bigger name tv's such as LG and Samsung. I wanted 4k HD and plenty of HDMI outputs along with an easy to use app setup. Once I got serious about purchasing a tv I saw the price difference between Vizio and LG/Samsung and dug deeper. The Vizio had all of the options I was looking for and has great reviews plus a cheaper price point. Considering my last tv was a vizio and lasted nearly 10 years before messing up I should have know to go back to Vizio. On to the purchase: unboxing and setting the tv up was fast and easy. The picture quality and speed of the apps (connected with CAT5) is amazing. The qwerty keyboard on the back of the remote was like icing on the cake. This feature makes using the apps a breeze. I referred to an Amazon review for some picture settings and adjusted mine accordingly. Definitely recommend this tv or any of the other M series Vizio tv's.

Considered reviews of LG and Samsung, but overall best value was the M55-C2 Viziio. Great right out of the box. We own eight Vizio TVs dating back four years, and have had no problems with any of them. Packaging was excellent. Have done no calibration at this point, but OOB setting are quite acceptable. One Comcrap problem that they couldn't seem to contend with was happily and efficiently handled by a Vizio telephone service rep. Above and beyond.

I have never had a smart TV before and I love it! I didn't know what I had been missing so I'm already starting to think about getting another smart TV to put in my bedroom. The picture quality on this Vizio is great and switching between TV and the apps is easy. I don't know what to make of the volume control as I have to have it up pretty high (level 35 to 55) to hear the sound well for the TV but when I'm watching a YouTube video, it would be blasting at that level so I usually have the volume set down around 10 to 15 which is normal. I tried adjusting the settings but that didn't seem to do anything. Maybe it is the cable provider (Time Warner). I probably should see someone at Best Buy. My other choice was Samsung but this was rated better for watching sports. Durability and sound was considered to be equal according to the Best Buy rep I talked to. BTW, I had both a Vizeo and two other Samsungs in my house before I purchased this. The Vizeo was the second flat screen TV I bought and has been doing just fine for the last 4 to 5 years. The Samsungs are doing well also.

5 HDMI Great + to the TV

Works great, may want to add a sound bar depending on your set up. We have ours on a tv stand away from the wall so we have to turn the sound up since the speakers are on the back. If placed on a wall should have no issue with the sound. Love that it has 5 HDMI spots, as we have mutiple items that take HDMI, makes it so I don't have to unplug one to hook up another. Color is good and didn't have to adjust it much to make it to our liking.

My old TV suddenly stopped working after owning it for about 10 years. So I went down to Best Buy and decided to purchase a new one. There was a huge selection of very nice and well priced TV's but I decided to go with this one because it was in my price range, looked great, it's 4K and 55 inches. So after purchasing my new TV, I still had one big problem... I needed to get my old TV (a HUGE, old big-screen TV that weighs about 350 lbs.) out of the house and replace it with the new one. I was extremely worried because I didn't know how I was going to get my old TV out of the house (because it weighs twice as much as me) or where I was going to take it to dispose of it. While I was checking out at Best Buy I was told that they would take away my old TV and deliver the new one all for free! Yes! I've had my new TV for about a month or two now and I totally love it. It's such a big difference compared to my old TV and I absolutely love it! If you need a new TV, I would definitely recommend this.

LED panel failed over only 30 days

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After owning this TV for only a month, the right half of the screen became very discolored because of a faulty LED panel. VIZIO support was initially less than helpful and blamed the problem on "dusty connectors" despite the cables and connectors also being only a month old. In addition the problem happens even with native apps built into the TV (such as Netflix). In fact the problem occurs regardless of the source so VIZIO's insistence on blaming dust has never made sense. After calling VIZIO several times, they had me waste a lot of time doing power cycles on the TV and trying different cables. They finally requested I send them pictures to "prove" the problem and they eventually agreed to replace the TV. But to make matters worse, the replacement is a "refurbished" model with a manufactured date older than the original TV. So in other words, VIZIO replaced my brand new TV with an older TV that likely had been in someone else's home. In my past experience VIZIO is an overall good brand but something went wrong with this line of M55 TV's. I would not recommend this item unless you have a lot of time and patience to dedicate to the VIZIO Support Team and don't mind having your brand new item replaced with something older.

I have been a Vizio buyer for many years (2006+) They make great products for the price. You don't get top of the line but I would rate it the best product to purchase for the money. Also this is a 120hz TV, which is important because movies play at 24 frames per second and TV 30 frames per second. A 120hz refresh rate is the minimum you would want to evenly divide. 120/24 = 5x refresh (Movies). 120/30 = 4x refresh (TV). A 60 hz TV would not evenly divide and for movies the TV would have to simulate 2.5x or that 0.5 time. 240 hz is not much better either since it almost refreshes the screen too much. Don't pay attention to "Clear Motion Rate" or "Clear Action Rate" It means very little and is used to confuse the consumer. Also a big importance here with this TV is the wireless speeds are excellent. This runs the latest WiFi 802.11AC so when you want to stream Netflix in UHD to watch House of Cards at least you know the TV can handle it. You would just need to make sure your internet speeds and your router can handle it. I have 100/100mbps internet package from FIOS and a Netgear Nighthawk X6 Wireless Router so the TV streams perfectly. (Only downside at all is the fact that HBO app cannot be added because Samsung has an exclusive agreement for the time being) there are ways around that though (PS4, XBOX, Chrome Cast, Apple Tv, ect...)

    Great 4K for great price

This is my first 4k TV, and is an upgrade from a 32 inch HD. It doesn't have the brightest colors, but I bought it for the deep blacks which it has. That makes the colors seem brighter, and for me it is more annoying to see blooming in dark scenes. The auto darkness feature is a little energetic but sometimes slow, so I usually have it off. That means when turn the lights off I have to manually change the settings. Speaking of settings, I had to experiment with custom settings since I didn't like the preset ones. I particularly enjoy the gradient judder ("soap opera effect") feature. Other Vizio Tvs have Off, Low, Med, High but this has a scaled for much better control. Upscaling is hit or miss (though not really enough 4K content available to compare). I use a sound bar so I can't comment on the sound, but from what little I've heard it's pretty good.

Great TV. Easy setup, great picture. The volume is not robust so I recommend a soundbar. I added the Vision 3.0 sound bar and am pleased with the total system. I recommend the TV to anyone looking for an affordable high quality entertainment system.

Love the picture quality and apps of this TV. It could have better sound quality, but I've heard that this is an issue across all smart and flat screens and a purchasing ploy to try to see more sound systems along with the TV themselves. Overall, great picture, ease of use, dual sided qwerty remote control are all amazing.
