I got this as a gift for my boyfriend's dad and he loves it but I can't hook up his old dvd player because it doesn't have hdmi cables

I was never a fan of the vizio product until I purchased one for outdoors that was second-hand from a friend of mine. I have had that TV outside, mounted to my wall under my covered patio for the last 3 years and I have never had one problem. Sometimes, it would rain and I would think the humidity would get to the TV. Still running just fine. I have purchased 2 more Vizio TV's and I expect the same level of reliability that I got from the one I have outside. By the way, I never covered the TV. I even found a bird made its nest behind the TV. Great TV for the price.

Got my TV today, already have a problem.

Just got my TV today....this is my third Vizio. After six hours, the TV suddenly went dark, as if I'd turned the darkness almost all the way down. I was in the next room and when I came back it was suddenly darker; I didn't touch it. Reset to factory settings and after about five seconds it went darker again. Brightness control does nothing at all. I can still watch but it's like everything is super dark.
Phone call to Best Buy tomorrow, I guess. Won't give a bad review because I know Vizios are great.

Decent LCD for the price

I used a pair of these when working in a music studio, they displayed the digital controller surface so while never used for audio output, I can only assume the built-in speakers are sufficient.
For straight-on viewing, these are very solid. Decent colors for an LCD. If you are viewing from an extreme angle, it's tough to see the picture.
Installation is a snap and installing to a wallmount was straightforward.
