I really liked these speakers....they were just perfect in size and volume for the 43" TV in my bedroom, although I was very disappointed that the DTS sound is only available through the coaxial ports, and it instantly switches back to HDMI as soon as you pause or rewind....and they failed to mention this when I bought it.
And then the trouble started. Little glitches at first, like not communicating with the phone app without a power cycle, and losing wifi connection. Later, losing audio sync and the ability to pair with the app at all, and, finally, not being able to power on the bar unless you unplugged it first.
Vizio, to their credit, warrantied the bar and shipped me a replacement with very little hassle. 6 months into the replacement, however, I am again starting to experience small glitches. It's really a shame, as I was quite impressed with the sound quality and most of the features, but this is too much money to be throwing away after only 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

So, I have had this speaker set for about a year. They were sorta good when I bought them. All of a sudden, the small surround sound speakers started messing up and crackling. They are also not loud at all. :-(
I bought some Samsung speakers today that are 2.1 channel and they sound a lot better. The Vizio speakers are 5.1 channel. Wow!
