This is the easiest way to run other operating systems on your Mac without having to restart your computer each time. It installs with Security to isolate virtual machines from your Mac by default. You can share folders, but it is not as secure. It is also the easiest to setup if you are a beginner. I am not, but I install this for all of my clients. It has been my experience that this works for more people, in general, than Parallels does. Parallels does offer more options, though. Be sure to install some type of Internet Security software on your virtual machine platform. A full version of Windows will be needed, & not just an Upgrade version. Linux is free, & this software can run that, too. In fact, this software is so easy to install that it has a list of operating systems for you to choose from, which really helps to take the guess work out of what settings you need.

VMWare is fantastic software for virtualization. I run Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux at the same time on my macbook pro using the Unity view. I can access and use applications from each operating system simultaneously.

Buying this was a very good choice. I never had a problem with rebooting in order to get to my other os, but with this now I can run both at the same time. This also allows me to easily transfer files from one os to the other. Well with it.
