    Excellent Cordless Phone System

I like this phone. Worlds better than the Uniden it replaces and in retrospect, I wish I'd went with a Vtech the first time around since I had a good experience years before. This model has all the features I wanted, plus some extras I didn't discover until after I opened the box and read the manual. The base unit is half the girth of the Uniden model of similar function and its form factor is cleaner with a less cluttered panel. It fits better on my kitchen wall and takes up less space. The handsets are half the weight of the outgoing Uniden, and they're slimmer so they don't bulk up my pockets (I walk around in and out of the house, etc.) The buttons light up a pretty blueish color and the speakerphone button has a contrasting red color. The LCD display lights blue as well, and gives a lot of information. You can intercom from handset to handset, or from handset to base unit. There is a handset find feature as well. I have walked around my whole house (bi-level 2200 sq-ft) and outside and haven't heard a crackle or fade during a call. The handsets also identify themselves and tell you when someone is on the line, and they even give you the status of the line itself, i.e., if the line is dead or no signal. Found that out when my U-verse went offline during a technician's service repair. You can bluetooth your cell phone to the base and route all the calls through the landline's handset which makes sooooo much sense, and makes taking cell calls (or making them) soooo much easier!!! Especially since today's smartphones aren't particularly comfortable to hold to your ear. You can connect two cell phones AND download their phone directories so the caller ID displays on the handset. In addition, you can dial your cell's contacts from the handset, operate call-waiting, etc... Now the bad: -There is no accessory headset jack. The Uniden had that. Speakerphone is as hands-free as you get. -You cannot fast-forward through (cue) the message you're listening to. Score two for Uniden. -The main function buttons of the handset have no backlight, only the numeric key pad, and speakerphone button. Not really a problem once you memorize the button layout, but still... -The contrast is too heavy on the LCD display, so you have to hold the phone at a specific angle to view everything on it. The LCD contrast is NOT adjustable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the purchase and I expect this phone system to last at least as long (three years) as my Uniden did.

the phones worked right out of box batteries were charged and the phone had a dial tone. It was not hard to read the directions to connect my cell phone via bluetooth and it works perfect no more our of range now with the cell. and it is always our of range we had to get a Airave to get signal. the phones only setback is the answering voice for the voice mail is male and no other choices but to record your own and I don't have a great voice.

Good phone except volume too low

I bought this phone to use with a cell phone only. I did not intend to use the landline also. The bluetooth pairing was fine. The general phone was fine but the VOLUME was TOO LOW. I tried several calls connected to my iphone5 and I could not always hear because the volume was too low at maximum. I had to put it on speakphone to hear the callers. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I also did not like that there was no way to default all call for cell. Each call you either need to press landline or cell before or after dialing. For me I am only going to use it with a cell phone linked via bluetooth so this was annoying. I returned the phone because the volume was too low. I say buyer beware. I instead go the panasonic KX-TG7732. The panasonic had fine volume level but a bit scratchy sound. You could set the panasonic to default to cell which is a great feature. I chose the scratchy panasonic over the could not hear vtech phone.

Piece of junk, horrible phone, going back!

I would give this phone zero stars if I could. I have had it for about a week and I don't know how the other reviewers could have rated it so well. I had a Panasonic and the difference is incredible. This phone echos your voice and you sound like your in a tin can on both ends. I have turned down the ringer and it still remains extremely loud. The phone number directory is also harder to get to then on my old phone. The headset does not stand up well on It's own. I could go on, and on. Horrible phone! I had to buy something in a hurry and this is what happens when I don't research something first.

    not for the phonebook user

i've never in my life had a phone where it is more involved to use the phone book in the phone. also the redial info is bad. instead of the name of the person and the number, or just he name, it say the number it is of the total number. i would be hard pressed to find less useful info if i tried. this makes use of the phone book even more necessary and as i indicated, to get to the phone book (called directory) you must hit menu, do to directory (2 clicks down) then hit select and down arrow twice to "review" then hit select and then using 1st letter only get to the right area and then look for the name. it's great that the phone can store up to 200 contacts but finding them is really bad.

I was amazed at the sound quality-maybe my old phones were more damaged than I thought. Bluetoothing my cell into the system is a nice feature. (I can answer cell calls on this phone) Better though, I was able to transfer my cell phone book into the new cordless system via the bluetooth, a very nice feature. My old phones had a detachable belt clip which was very convenient for walking about. This does not. The old phone also had a jack to use a headset with, also a very useful item that this new phone does not.

I was really surprised to see some of the negative reviews about this phone. This phone works great! The sound system is excellent and the bluetooth works great as well. I have a Iphone and have not had any problems with connecting with this phone. The answering machine is great as well. I even bought mine on sale for about 20 less so I was VERY happy about that too!

Easy to setup with Bluetooth. The connect-to-cell was the most important feature since we are planning to ditch the land-line soon and go exclusively with a cell phone or switch to a VOIP carrier in the near future. Voice and sound quality is very good. Speaker phone quality and loudness volume were good with acceptable distortion. I looked at several cordless phones and although this came with just a pair (2) of handsets, it has a few features found in higher priced phones. The look is good and soothing with the blue lights on the handset instead of the garish orange or plain back-lit LCDs so it is easy to read the display. Overall another very good product at a good price from Vtech

It's been ten years since I have had a home phone. Cut the cord many years ago. I paired this Vtech phone set, to my new Ooma Telo system. Just getting sick of robo calls on my cell. Going to dump it after my number is paired. The Vtech is a sharp slim phone. Light weight with a cheesy feel. I guess thats the norm in todays tech world? The two phones was the selling point for me. Plenty of room to expand the use over time. Over all not a bad deal. Not so sure if this thing could take much abuse IE a drop from a table might ruin your day and the phone. Since I remember when you had a round dial and a cord on a home phone, and cell phones were not invented yet. My review may not mean much?

My wife selected this unit for its looks and I might add I agree. It is not bulky looking, the unit base is small and the handset appears to be moulded into base. Working fine so far however I have no need for the bluetooth/cell phone portion of phone so cannot comment on that.

speaker phone volume not that loud. Handset is not bent to fit the head comfortable. Phone works well so that is important. Would still recommend this to a friend as long as they did not use the handset versus speaker on handset.

Hooked this up to my Magic Jack and it sounds fine. The bluetooth sync'd up fine but a little flaky and didn't work the way I thought it would. Sync's with Iphone and Android and still trying to figure how it works. I feel this phone should have more of a rubber feel because I feel like its going to slip out of my hands or off my shoulder when using. Haven't dropped it yet but only a matter of time and then we'll see how well it holds up.

    Lacks Bluetooth Auto-connect feature

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Our family has multiple cell phones and NO LAND line. These BLUETOOTH connect to cell phones are fantastic to let you go on without a landline and feel like you still have one. The technology lets you leave your cell phone in your purse, bedroom, the car, etc. and still hear your phone ring around the house without having to tote your cell with you. Really prevents missed calls. HOWEVER, THIS MODEL REALLY FALLS SHORT compared to AT&T and Panasonic comparable models. I have another competing set and it works flawlessly. The biggest convenience is when you drive up to your home, and within range, the phone needs to auto-connect, re-connect, or otherwise take care of you. This phone makes you MANUALLY walk up everytime you walk back in the house and press a button to re-connect it. That really defeats the purpose for us. This should be a selectable feature to really be a value. Additionally, it keeps turning off the ringer to my wife's iPhone 4S... very annoying!!! Also has poor bluetooth range with static compared to my other bluetooth set.
