Customers recognize the generally positive sound quality, with many praising its clarity across different usage modes like headset and speakerphone. However, some users experienced issues with the durability of the headset's design, specifically citing problems with the earpiece attachment. The positive feedback on sound quality outweighs the negative comments regarding the headset's fragility. Overall, the product receives favorable reviews for its audio performance but needs improvement in the headset's robustness.

This phone surprised me. I love the headphone especially. I can hold the baby and fix supper and talk on the phone without trying to be close enough to the speaker for people to hear and understand me. The range was surprising too I hadn't been able to go outside let alone go clear into the back yard and hear anything, I now can. I love it glad it was on sale which gave me the chance to talk hubby into new phone

Nice phone. Buttons on the wireless headset could have been more protruding out from the headset so that they could be felt without looking at them. To mute or unmute the headset, we have to take the headset off, and look at the buttons to press it.

We did not have any problems setting up the system. It mounts on the wall easily. It sits on the table just fine. The handset is easy to use.

Nice DECT phone, great headset

This is an interesting phone that I believe is unique to BestBuy. It is a single-line, two handset DECT 6 phone with a proprietary headset, which looks like a Bluetooth headset but is, in fact DECT. This means that the headset has the same range as the handsets -- you can wander all over the house, over to the neighbors, and still chat on your headset. This is far superior to the range of Bluetooth-enabled DECT phones where you must remain within 10-20 feet of the base station.
Sound quality is very good, consistent with DECT, as is range. It operates at 1.9 GHz so it won't interfere with your wireless (WiFi) network.
The base is nothing to write home about, basically a dumb answering machine. I wish it had a keypad and speaker phone (much more useful than an answering machine these days where everyone has voice mail).
The handsets have an attractive design but are a little light weight (read: cheap). Call timer and built-in address book, but no speed dialing. Keypad feels good, nice tactile and audible feedback.
The headset, as mentioned, looks like a large Bluetooth headset. I found it a little hard to fit in my ear, but the ear loop keeps it close enough that sound quality is not impacted if it doesn't actually sit in the ear canal. Again, because it is DECT (probably explaining why it is a bit bulky) the range is the same as the handset range. Wow!
I don't think the build quality is as good as the Panasonics, but no one else offers an equivalent product. Sound quality is excellent.
For what I wanted (good cordless, hands-free capability) I think this is an excellent unit.

Great phone

This is exactly what I wanted. I chose it because of the cordless headset that came with it. It was like a free bonus. The reception is very clear. My house isn't that big, so I'm not too sure about range, but it works from the 2nd floor to the basement with very good reception, and outside around the house. I've had a couple of other AT&T phones - not to knock them specifically, but the soft buttons on the handsets would start getting hard to press, and then took many times pushing the button to try to get the numbers to register. After I threw one across the room in frustration, I knew it was time to get another phone. I now have no issues with these handsets.
The features are easy to use also. My favorite one is that I can retrieve my messages from the handset. I couldn't do that with my last phone.
This model can be used as a desktop or wall-hung unit. I hung it on the wall where the last one was. It's a little ugly up there as it sits somewhat above the mounting bracket on the wall, and not directly over it, but that's not a bad thing, really. All in all, I'm extremely happy with this item.

Great Purchase

The Great: Its not that expensive and everything works as it should. I have not tested the range for the headset but it does have clear sound and people on the other end can hear me fine. I have small ears and the extra earbud and ear piece fit fine with my ears. Although you can't go around jumping all over the place or it will fall out.
Not so great: The answering machine does not allow you to apply your own recorded message. also the plugs are the ones that will cover up another space on your surge protector which is sort of frustrating.

I've read several bad reviews about this phone and find that they all complain about the headset. I just wanted to say I have had no problem with any component of the headset breaking. Even if the earpiece were to break the phone comes with two other ear attachment pieces and one fully head piece (phone operator type).
This is an excellent phone and definitely at the right price.

Great Phone - Headset Doesn't Even Need Clip

I found this phone to work exceptionally better than a prior DECT 6.0 model I had previously used for home/office. I also found, for me personally, breaking off the clip holder and just inserting the headset into my ear works much better. The sound quality is great on the headset, speakerphone or Push-to-Talk. I found PTT feature is great to have when I am working late and need a beverage from the kitchen. I highly recommend this phone. Don't be fooled by prior issues with VTech products, I also had prior problems years ago. This phone is worth every $1.

poor quality for headset

I've owned vtech cordless phones for years and I like the brand.
I purchased this model because it includes an RF headset.
The RF headset works well (good sound quality) but is poorly designed in that a high-stress component is made of cheap plastic.
I received the phone with said headset component broken, rendering the headset useless (as that little plastic piece is essential to holding the headset to your ear).
With this piece broken, I could not use the headset without holding it to my ear with my hand.
And because this little plastic piece is of poor quality (and design), I cannot recommend this product.
In fact, I am posting this review as a warning to anyone who is looking to purchase this vtech model; beware and look at another model/brand, you'll save yourself a lot of heartache.

I am handicapped and my hands shake a lot so the headset is a BIG plus and it works great and is comfortable. You can actually hear the answering machine and I can check my messages from the handset, I don't have to go directly to the machine. It has a small footprint. I enjoy having two handsets + the headset.

Headset has broken twice! VERY flimsy!

I was very excited about purchasing this phone as it made my job, which is primarily done over the phone and computer, much easier because I could have both of my hands free. I originally got the phone in mid December and it is now the beginning of February and I have already had to return it twice due to the headset breaking! It is held together by two very flimsy "teeth" that have broken under very little pressure. I will now be returning the phone to get a different phone that has a headset plug and just wear a traditional headset around my house!

I have purchased two of these phones.
Both headset clips broke, I even ordered a headset direct from Vtech.
Won't buy another until they fix the headset clip.
Parts are made of plastic and break very easily.

I liked the phone, liked the hands free part but the headpeace clip is poorly designed. Design is so bad I have had two break and being super gentle. They need to fix the headpiece and then I would love the phone.

Bought it on sale and would've paid the full price and more once I used it. Wireless headset phones are usually $ 200+ minimun. This has wonderful range, the headset is lightweight and you forget having it on until you get a call and it rings in your ear. Very impressive, phones are easy to use. Haven't used the answering machine but I'm sure it is equally well made.

The headset rotating clip breaks easily

I love everything about this phone, but I purchased it FOR the headset because of health issues and the head set breaks and I send for another and it breaks and I glue it. I would not recommend this until something is done about the cheap head set clip. I am so dissappointed with the headset. If this problem was fixed it would be the best.

I have now gone through two headsets for this phone. On both headsets, the fastener that held the earpiece to the microphone broke.
