Ended up returning to store as when told to scan, light would come on green, start scan, light would go off, have to push scan again. Took to Geek Squad, they checked it out and said there was something wrong with it. So I returned for credit. Will do more research on scanners.

The scanner works fine. I have only use it a few times.

It works well and I have had no problems . I would recommend it to anyone that asks about it.

Solid item that's easy to use for scanning and making digital copies of receipts, articles in publications, or even photos. You can choose between JPG format for saving items (for photos) or PDF format (for documents) and a 300 or 600 dpi detail setting. AA batteries make it convenient to use as you don't have to worry about keeping a rechargeable battery topped off all of the time. Pop in an 8 gig Micro-SD memory card and you can scan tons of stuff and using a SD adapter later, use your computer's memory card slot to view them (or use the included USB cable). Of note, however: This model which is still being sold by Best Buy is the "old" Vupoint model. They came out with an updated model a while ago that has a tiny color LCD screen on it so you can preview what you just scanned or browse through past scans - this model only has a digital readout that shows you your settings, and how many scans you've taken (but no preview image). Not necessarily a deal breaker, except it's being sold for the same price as the newer model (found elsewhere). I'd suggest to Best Buy to stock the newer model, or lower the regular price of this one.

Even though product information stated that it would work with iOS and windows software it was not compatible with my MacBook or my HP windows 10. I had to return this scanner.

Excited to try it out right away, took it out of the box as soon as I arrived home, got it all set up/ready to scan, to find out it didn't even work. SOOOOO Disappointed.

Was frankly surprised at the performance of this hand scanner. Setup was simple, although the required mini memory card required a separate purchase, and calibration and scanning were easy to accomplish. Slowly passing the scanner over any document, without pausing or drifting off the page produced excellent results. Nice touch was the USB cord, carry case and polishing cloth. Very pleased with use for simple scans...in library or any remote location.

Don't buy piece of, junk. I wouldn't recommend it.

This portable scanner is amazing. I have a huge collection of magazine clippings that I've kept in a binder for years. My plan was to scan each page, but it was taking forever on my flatbed and I burned myself out, so I stopped. Since I've gotten this scanner, I've pulled them out again. In a day and a half, I've scanned over 400 items. I am halfway done and it feels great. It literally takes three seconds to scan a full page. You press the scan button, run it down the page, and then press it again. The file saves on your SD card. From there, you can insert the SD card into your computer to rip the images off or directly plug the scanner into your USB port. The software that comes with the VuPoint is called Abby FineReader, but I haven't used it much. Instead, I open the images in Photoshop, crop, and save. It's very easy and the images look amazing. You can create a low or high quality scan, but even with the low quality scan, the images look pretty good. I believe you can save the scans in the Abby FineReader program as Microsoft Word docs, jpegs, or pdfs. If you're one of those people that holds onto a lot of paper and desperately wants to get rid of it, then this scanner was made for you.

Good general scanner for around the house. Easy to use and has good quality for scanning photos etc. Much easier than on all in one printer scanner. The glass in my printer scanner is making whte sots in all photos. This is a better alterantive.

I bought this scanner for both business and personal use for documents and pictures. It's extremely easy to use and has good image quality, I can take it anywhere, and it makes a great gift!

I purchased this hand-held product to retain copies of receipts that had to be sent to insurance company. It is very easy to use, great quality, and easy to move files to my computer. It is better to use the PDF than the JPEG scan option to download files quickly. I was not able to quickly figure out how to use OCR software, so I just renamed files as I downloaded them.

We bought this to scan pictures our out-of-town relatives have from way, way back. This one is very portable and easy to use. The color was only fair, but some black and white pictures came out better in the scan than they looked on the picture. We will use this a lot. Decent price and very portable. You do need a computer.
