After opening the retail packaging, I discovered both of those features are NOT present in the trimmer. The retail packaging (I checked all 6 sides) and the instructions manual also make no mention of those 2 features. After emailing the manufacturer, Wahl explicitly confirmed that this model 9893L does NOT have those 2 features. I will be returning this and purchasing another product. Otherwise, Wahl did confirm that the 1" blade head can be removed and rinsed. Also, the rubber handle is grippy (i.e., lint attractor). I have not tested the product since I will be returning it unused.

Wahl rechargeable beard trimmer disappoints

But this new model is a disappointing and noisy beard trimmer. It cuts such a small swath that I must use extreme care not to leave holes/divots in my beard near the lips. The battery charge does last many days, but there’s no docking station so I have to unwind a long power cord and leave it lying across the counter all morning. Loud motor buzzing is very annoying. It’s hard to clean beard hairs from blades and rubber grip. Oiling blades every couple weeks is messy. I’d suggest shoppers look at other models.
