And that’s all I’m looking for. When Ryan was coming to a high point in the first chapter of his career, Waiting... is a great, crude, and cheaply-made film that honors the service industry and the grueling difficulty in getting out of it to move on.

It is great to see this movie again. Enjoyed the humor, but that’s it. The movie does not hold up over time.

Frankly I was disappointed with this comedy . The jokes were slow and few. The laughs were not there with a repeat of the old wasted life of an individual. A very dull repeat of too many comedies with the same characters.

I wanted to give this movie a chance. Dane Cook and Ryan Reynolds were the drawing cards. Also, I thought this was going to be something like Employee of the Month. This movie isn't funny at all. Andy Milanokas is pretty weak in this film as well. It was cheap, but kindof a bust.

    Must See

If you've ever worked in the food service industry, "Waiting" is a Must See. Ryan Reynolds, although not typically my favorite actor, does an excellent job as the main character in this movie about working in a chain restaurant. As a former waitress/host/bartender I found this movie to be a good, hilarious reflection of what really goes on in the kitchen. My favorite part of the movie centers on a rude customer who gets some "extra attention" to her meal. Also hilarious was the dopey restaurant manager trying to help out in the kitchen, but rather just gets in the way. I'm usually not into the crude type of humor featured in "Waiting," but I couldn't help but love some of the practical jokes and rites of passage featured at the restaurant. This is definatley a must see movie for anyone who has EVER been so lucky to work such a thankless job in the food service industry.

Crude and true at times, this movie reminded me what it was to like to deal with the unknowing, unforgiving, not caring, stupid public as a whole. This movie is hilarious! If you have ever been a waiter or in the food industry you should watch this. If you have ever been the jerk who gives us a hard time you should watch this. Remember this isn't just a movie, someone has had to experience this in order to hit the nail directly on the head. Go ahead be a jerk if we or the kitchen accidentally mess up, go ahead...LOL Watching this movie will make you say oh yeah or oops maybe i shouldn't be a jerk!

    A Truly Funny Movie

This is a very funny movie. Unfortunately, it seems to be an either hate it or love it sort of movie. So, if you haven't seen it, you may want to rent it first. The only special feature to not make it to the Blu-ray is a 6 minute collection of real stories from actual waiters. So no real loss there, I just thought I would mention it. The video and audio are top notch with this blu-ray as well. Fans of the film will not be disappointed.

    good crack-up film

As with a lot of today's funny films, I had to watch this movie a second time to really appreciate it. I initially rented it, kinda enjoyed it, and didn't think much about it afterwards. Then, it came on cable tv, and I realized that I actually missed all the good ole crude humor. Finally, I appreciated the movie and the story that goes with it enough to buy the dvd. I mean, come on, its got Ryan Reynolds in it. He's about as "side-hurting" humorous as anyone gets today.

    no more waiting...

Waiting is the definition of dirty humor. It is very similar to that of Wedding Crashers or Bachelor Party (for you old school comedy lovers!) Ryan Reynolds is almost the exact same type of character he played in Van Wilder but this time he has a supporting crew that are much more funny themselves and make for one great watch. The plot is simply a day in the life of a new guy at the restaurant Shananaganz. Overall, amazing funny, probably my favorite of all time, i recommend it to everyone that can take a joke and crude humor.
