Packaged very well. All solid wood and metal pieces. Holds about 50-75 books depending on size. Just the style i was looking for. Modern non traditional and it receives complements whenever my friends or guest come over. I would highly recommend this! P.s. assembly required, not for the faint at heart(has a lot of pieces) i.e get the furniture assembly service if not a DIY person
