I don't think that they could do a better job than they did with DAWN and RISE, however they did. The added bonus of he bluray is great as well since I can rip them and add them to my digital catalog with all the glory of surround sound. The cast is awesome and the movie set is wonderful. I'm sad to see this trilogy end. Hopefully someone will reboot it and take it in a different direction to mix it up. Heres to crossing fingers. If you have an UHD PLAYER get this.

Its has great picture. Down side is you need to read the boxes carefully. Not all 4k movies have the 4k digital download which kind of ticked me off. Yes this come with digital down load but its only a hdx download not UHD. The 4k movies have a slight change where the digital copy is at on the top right of front cover. Any 4k movie box that says 4k+blu Ray+ digital means that the digital copy is only HDX. Of the box says digital HD then its a UHD digital copy.

The Apes Reboot Trilogy Bows out in Style

The new Planet of the Apes movies have been thrilling-combining cutting edge visual effects with the same social relevance found in the Charleston Heston original. In this final film of the new trilogy, the apes have almost conquered the Earth, but a ragtag group of former Special Forces-led by Woody Harrelson-is bent on destroying ape leader Caesar and his ape society. Not quite as good as the second film, but a fitting end to the trilogy.

The Best Yet in this Excellent Series

As much as I loved Dawn and Rise, I believe this is the best in the series so far. There’s action to be found here, for sure, but this is a thoughtful, highly emotionally involving story with well-wrought characters. There are no easy answers and little is black and white; instead there are shades of gray and even the villains have motives for their actions. If it matters to you, the effects work is stunning. Very highly recommended,

First, a disclosure. I love apes. So perhaps I am biased. With that said, I love the remakes of the Planet of the Apes movies. This one is by far the best. The special effects are amazing - the apes look real. It has heart as well as some jaw dropping action. I also caught some throwbacks to the original movies. If you haven't seen the first two, it probably would help, but I don't think it is 100% required.

This is not typically the type of movie that I go out of my way to view. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised with not only the caliber of the acting, but also it was visually beautiful. The storyline with Caesar is definitely getting better and better. I just hope that Hollywood decides to greenlight another trilogy, as this one is brilliant! Just be prepared for a deeper intellectual movie that at its surface may seem simple.

very sad to see this saga come to an end, but they did it in a very elegant way. amazing performance by woody harrelson (which in my opinion overshadows at moments the rest of the film itself, because he is that good). the supplements are fine and the video and audio quality are actually better than the 4k version. this edition also includes the dvd copy of the film, which is always nice to have around just in case.

The best of the series. Well played at every turn. The cinematography was superb. The visual effects are off the charts. And it even had some humour sprinkled in to add to the enjoyment and the ending was done well and sets the stage for a sequel. Woody Harrelson's portrayal was one his best performances. Turn the lights down low, the volume up, get the popcorn ready and enjoy the show. Highly recommend this movie.

A very worthy addition to the franchise and a great end to the Caesar trilogy! I enjoyed this far more than the second installment and it was cared for and executed just as well as the first two movies in this set. I grew up watching the original series with Charlton Heston and this new set, after having watched War, have become some of my favorite movies. Highly recommended (but definitely watch them in order)

Well it ended the trilogy. Not much more to say than that. Just a lot of shooting between the apes and villains. Maybe the next reboot series will be better.

Upon watching Rise of the Planet of the Apes I would have never guessed that it would be a good movie let alone accumulate into three Apes films that could considered one of the best trilogies ever made. It is now in consideration for that title. This installment doesn't go out with a bang but rather an end of an arch towards the future. Bleak for humans but better for apes. Highly recommended!

The Planet of The Apes prequel series is an astounding tale of how our planet came to be ruled by simians... this latest installment does not disappoint. War for The Planet of The Apes brilliantly presents a storyline in which the viewer is faced with the juxtaposition of all that truly makes us "human"... watch as Caesar cements his legacy, as well as the place of Earth's new dominant species!

My son and I watched this movie together. We have seen every Ape movie in the franchise prior to this one. About 20 minutes in we both looked at each other and said, "is this it?". Then the story fully reveals itself and gets really good, I mean really good. After this revelation, it makes sense what was happening in the beginning. Excellent movie indeed. 4K presentation is just perfect.

"War For the Planet of the Apes" is, in my mind, one of the most innovative sci-fi films of this decade, not only for its visual effects, but also for its pure visual storytelling. This Blu-ray release, which contains the kinds of special features you would come to expect for a movie like this, does not disappoint--although I honestly would love to see in maybe a few years an expanded version with even more behind-the-scenes featurettes, because the filmmaking of this film is truly extraordinary. Check this one out as soon as you can.

I think that "War For The Planet Of The Apes" was one of the greatest action films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite action films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "War For The Planet Of The Apes" had a lot of entertaining. exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including an amazing and original storyline.

I have never watched the older version of this movie series, however, the way the portrayal of this new version is fantastic. Great special effects, and directed to represent an emotional side of survival, within almost marginalized ethnic groups. Overall, this third installment has an impactful conclusion that pays tribute to how Planet of the Apes story needed to end.

    Feeling Sympathetic for the Apes

A great sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Despite the issues that the apes continue to have with humans, Caesar still tries to promote a win-win solution for apes and humans. That is until his wife and son are killed and he feels compelled to seek vengeance for their deaths. Consequently, it's hard not to feel sympathy for the apes.

The first film, Rise, was better than I'd expected. It's follow-up, Dawn, was incredible, in my opinion. This film isn't quite to that level but close. Confusingly, those expecting a "war" movie may enjoy "Dawn" the most. This is a bit of a war movie but owes a debt to "The Great Escape" and the like. By all rights this reboot series is far better than I'd ever expected. As to the disc's presentation, it's a solid 4k release. Well above average, though it's more muted palette doesn't make the HDR "pop"

This is the final chapter in the Planet of the Apes Saga and it does not disappoint. This movie pits man against ape and all-out war between them. Andy Serkis does a masterful job in portraying Caesar and Woody Harrelson plays the ruthless Colonel. A must have for the Planet of the Apes collection.

This is one of the best Planet of the apes movies. Bought it release date on sale at Best Buy . I haven’t watched the 3D version yet but it was pretty good in 2D. A great movie to add to your collection. I am looking forward to watching the 3D version over the holidays. I have the whole collection of the Ape movies. A must if you are into the planet of the apes.
