I remember when this came out in 2005..i said dang that looks good..Lets fast forward to 2020..I got this on 4k..the film looked good on bluray..Heck even DVD..But the 4k format..blows them out of the water..It has extremely great sound..The visuals are out of this world..The color is really bright..And of course every movie has a great plot

War of the Worlds is one of the better Tom Cruise movies that I have seen. This 4k release is much better than the DVD copy that I purchased a few years back. With HDR and Dolby vision the visuals are perfect for this style of movie. On the sound side the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is a great sound experience. Overall a really good movie.

I absolutely LOVE this film and think it too often gets overlooked in the conversation of the “best remakes”. Tom Cruise has a stand out performance in his career with this one. Story is endearing and based on the classic novel. Special FX are top notch!

When Steven Spielberg, our greatest living popular filmmaker, and Tom Cruise, our most dedicated living movie star, pooled their talents to to make a movie about how quickly everything falls apart in the face of sudden, overwhelming terror and how important it is to hang on in spite of it all, well, it's going to be a great movie, and it is. Thankfully, it's been reevaluated in the last few years, and finally getting the regard it's always deserved.

Had to have this for my collection. It looks great on my Sony 75x940e with my UBP-X800M2 4K Blu-ray player and sounds even better in Dolby Atmos using my Sony HT-Z9F soundbar with Z9R wireless rear speakers! This is what home theater is all about!! Amazing picture and incredible sound make this movie a blast to see again and again!!

Overall a great movie with a fantastic Dolby Atmos soundtrack! I own a home theater company and this is one of my go to discs. During the lightning storm at the beginning, the top height speakers come alive giving you an amazing immersive experience!!

i saw this when i was younger and i really didn't appreciate it back then as i do now since all i wanted to watch was action. went back to it and i saw some big names in there in smaller roles which i was surprised to see. the 4k bumps up the great visuals which looked a bit clunky back then. definitely worth the pick up

I must say I love this movie and it still holds up after so many years. I'd also like to say, if you are not a fan of film grain, you may not like this title. It is very similar to Minority Report of the real world scenes in Ready Player One. Defrecommend if you like more grounded Sci-Fi with some Thriller sprinkled in.

A reference quality disc is all aspects. Video looks amazing. The sound will blow you away. The movie itself? I think it’s one of Spielberg’s most underrated films. It’s a tense, scary, emotional roller coaster that’s a feast for the eyes and ears.

Great scifi! Action through out and good story telling. Spielberg does it again. Picture looks good and the sound is amazing. Again, the real feature is the steelbook. The artwork is simple but effective. For the price you can't beat it. But alas, another victim of Best Buy shipping. Little dings all over .

Good Sci Fi film from Steven Spielberg. I personally enjoyed it from beginning to end. Not Tom Cruises best work but regardless it’s enjoyable. Really makes you wonder if aliens exist and if something like this were to happen. Probably not but it makes you feel some type of way.

I love this movie so much. I’m a huge Steven Spielberg fan and this is one of my favorite Spielberg films. This is one of the most underrated movies in film history. This 4k version looks and sounds fantastic! Best way to watch this movie. Definitely recommend this purchase!

A great alien invading earth devastation flick. The old bluray was overly grainy and dark, couldn’t see the details. But wow, thankfully the 4K master reveals all that missing detail that was muddled and now brings it all out without sacrificing the grain for you grain lovers!

They actually did a great job on this 4K HDR release. I’ve seen a few 4K Releases that have been screwed up such as Terminator 2 and 2012. But they did a pretty good job with the HDR zone this one. And if you have a good theater system this movies pops pretty well.

Awesome movie with excellent picture and audio made better by Dolbyvision 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos. Looks fantastic in my home theater system. Demo worthy material! I am also a sucker for steelbooks and the art on this steelbook is majestic. For this price grab this title. So pleased!!!

I’m so glad Best Buy put this one back in stock! I would always watch this film everyday when I was younger. I know a lot of people either hate or love it. I personally enjoyed it. Dakota Fanning and Tom Cruise Star is this reboot and it’s directed by Steven Spielberg. The steelbook is stunning. It has a glossy shine to it and is a must own for any steelbook collector

Best this movie has ever looked, coming from the standard DVD, it is leagues above in quality. I was Leary that the upgrade wouldn't be justifiable considering the monochromatic film look, but it Has far exceeded my expectation. Dark scenes and shadow benefit very much from this 4k scan

The movie itself was filmed with a rough grainy quality so that goes unchanged in the 4k version, but it's great to get it with the digital copy and we are sure to enjoy it for quite a few years to come. Set comes with 4k, Blu-ray, and digital copy. Currently price is very good.

Spielberg is truly amazing in creating new ways of telling his stories to meet new eras of cinema. This film is not your classic adventurous Spielberg movie, but more in a Saving Private Ryan fashion in terms of fear, desperation, and loss. A dark and gritty world of alien invasion that is both quite terrifying yet entertaining enough to be called a Spielberg summer film ;)

Quality and sound would get 5 stars. However…it’s the story that drops is down to 4 stars. War of the Worlds has never looked better, but that still doesn’t change the movies last act. It’s still rushed and underwhelming.
