You don't need to be a gamer to enjoy this movie!!

Never played the game but I was quite entertained!

The most striking thing about the film is the meticulous attention to detail that Jones shows. It enables him to provide very sly moments of fan-service without detracting too much from the narrative. If you've played World of Warcraft, you'll be sure to catch a glimpse of something you recognize from your in-game adventures; but equally, Jones makes sure the story isn't too contrived so as to keep the general public engaged in the story. Aside from the lore detail, the CGI is simply breathtaking. This is the first noteworthy film where the magic looks and feels believable. Not only that but the specifics of the CGI Orcs made them even more eye-catching than the faithful recreations of Azeroth's fabled landscape.

In my opinion this movie deserves more credit than what rotten tomatoes was giving it. Probably the best if not one of the best Video game movies outside of the Resident Evil movies (which has gotten a little ridiculous already). If you love video games and love this sort of lore, pick it up. The 4K version looks VERY good. Probably not demo material yet, I would give that honor to Deadpool in 4K but still very nice.

I enjoyed this movie; I don't know anything about Warcraft outside the movie, other than its a video game. So I had no expectations going into it, other than I'd seen the trailers and thought the motion-capture/special effects made it worthy of at least one vieiwing. Glad I bought it; I plan to watch it again just for the special effects as I thought they were done well, and I like the world the movie is filmed in as well. I recommend viewing this at least once if you like LOTR and/or sword/sorcery-type movies.

I've never been big into World of Warcraft, the computer game, though I have tried a free trial for a few days years ago. I am told there's a lot in this movie for fans of the game to enjoy, but it's totally watchable even for us folks who know very little about the game and its fictional world. It's got a good story, even if it is a little predictable, and the characters are interesting and fun. I would love to see a sequel made if it can match or exceed the quality of this film.

Fantasy film featuring the far past backstory of the Warcraft universe. Approachable if you don't know the series well, but far better if you do - there are a lot of major characters to keep track of. Great magic effects. This is a contained story and is relatively consistent with the lore of the game, though there are a few differences from the canon. It tens more toward an action flick than a deep story, though there's enough there that those looking for more shouldn't be disappointed.

Of course WOW fans live it, but it was a good movie in its own right. Beautiful cgi and thoughtful storyline that helps the largest participatory epic of all time... That's what makes this movie actually important to our times. We now have a massive movie to match the mmorpg. It brings the lore alive. As important as LOTR, and would have given it a run for its money if it had been given to 3 hr space...there is so much more to come. Let's hope they have the chance to develop more movies.

All employees were great and courteous however went back to beat buy on 11/4 product headset or something for the game condolences showed in store no employee knew where to find it and instead of taking customer to find it sent them all over the store trying to find in and the next day 11:6 went to find something else and the same thing happened ithe product looking for was in stock but not where should be no one even the department manager knew where to look and sent customer to try to defend himself just said it is over there and pointed it out said customer left your store again without purchase this is un called for. You need to train employees to know every department

If you are a gamer and have played multiple MMORPG's you will recognize this movie and you will more than likely enjoy this movie if you have ever played WoW (World of Warcraft). It is the movie many people desperately wanted to see, but also the movie that disappointed many as it started in the lore when the Horde came to Azeroth rather than including many of the races. Many people (including me) cannot wait until the next chapter comes out. I would recommend it.

Pretty good movie for someone who has never played the game. It's a shame the movie did so poorly domestically because the door was definitely left open for sequels. The 3D is very impressive and immersive with bold colors and strong detail. The Dolby Atmos surround track is very strong with some good bass in moments and helps to bring the viewer into this fantasy world. This movie isn't for everyone, but I myself enjoyed it quite a bit. Great eye and ear candy.

This movie ties in well with the legacy gameplay on Warcraft and also into the newer expansions. As a standalone fantasy movie, it is a solid 3-star effort. As an extension of the Blizzard universe, it is a 5-star addition. If you are a casual player, you'll get excited to see some of the game locations on the 'big screen'. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed watching for little inside jokes throughout the movie. Will be viewing again to see if we can spot more.

This movie was great in the movie theaters but now you get to see in even higher quality at home. If you are lucky enough to have HDR on your TV then this movie would be the best test of it's capabilities from the digital landscapes and characters. Every detail is made for next gen TV technologies it seems, of course having a OLED LG TV compared to earlier sony 4Ks like my self would have different experiences. All being good of course even the sound on this movie shines with it's low sub sounds and rumbles!

After being told how awful this movie was I decided to check out the train wreck myself. I'm a 3D aficionado so I said what the heck. Expecting very little, I saw the movie and was pleasantly surprised. The 3D effects were not in your face, I like in your face, but still had some nice visuals to offer. The CGI was solid and the movie was epic-ish, enough to warrant a place on my 3D movie collection. I'm happy to have ignored the critics on this one.

I didn't expect much from this movie, but it turned out to be much better than I had planned. I was afraid the merging of CGI and live action wouldn't work, but a few minutes into it, and I pretty much forgot about it. I would have liked to have seen more than just humans and orcs but I hope that if there are future movies that the other WoW races will be more represented. If you are a WoW fan, you should give this one a try.

Definitely not the best movie i've ever seen, but still great. It's tough to make a movie based on a video game but, these guys pulled it off to about 85%. It's an excellent watch. I rate movies based on how many times I watch it. Saw it twice now and will probably see it once more very soon. They try to stay as true to the "Warcraft universe" as possible. What more would you want them to do? Watch it, well worth it.

Despite what the critics say and some of the non-critic professionals say, this is an amazing movie. I am not a gamer, and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. This movie made me become a WarCraft fan. The cast of characters, the acting, the CGI, the story line, everything I so enjoyed. No spoiler alert no fairy tale ending, but can we please have a part 2 picking up where this one ended, I am ready to go see this

Probably one of the closest "D&D"-type movies ever made....especially in terms of how magic is represented. Not sure how accurate it is to the PC games as I don't play....this being said, the movie, although a bit slow at times....is still def entertaining as a high fantasy flick. The FX are top notch and Picture Quality/Sound is great. If fantasy movies are your thing, it's worth a look - especially in Ultra HD!

It was okay, but it can't really compare to the game. Decent, if you're not expecting too much.

I have never played the game this movie is based on so I was concerned that I would be lost in the story. However, that was not the case. My ignorance of the game franchise did not affect my enjoyment at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The action was great and the special effects were some of the best I've seen. I was also impressed with how clean this movie was. I have children and do not like movies that push sexuality and have strong language. There is a fair amount of violence but even that was handled well. A sword and sorcery movie that is fun for the whole family.
