Excellent game. I don't know of any other game that offers this kind of action and diversity with vehicles , warhawks and infantry weapons. The servers are set up well to the point of you can choose what restrictions you want in a room. Grat game but the few map choices are stale and can get boring.

If you are looking for a fun online game to play, Warhawk is a great choice. Years after it's release, the game still has a good size community. An added plus is that you can have 3 of your friends over and play the game online together.
Consider this game as an arcade version of the Battlefield series. You start each online game as a regular soldier but their are Warhawks, jeeps, jetpacks, and tanks scattered through the map. If you download some of the available DLC maps, you get additional vehicles. Being on foot is not a bad thing either as you can pick up many weapons such as mines, missile launchers, and sniper rifles. There are also turrets scattered in the stages to help you shoot down planes. The maps are huge but thankfully they have 2-3 smaller versions of each map to accommodate small groups of players.
The only issue with the game is that it is an online only game unless you have LAN parties or don't mind playing large maps with just 4 people. There is also no bot support so if you want to have more people to shoot or planes to blow up, you have to go online. But as far as online games go, this is a one of a kind game and I'd recommend you give it a try if you like online games.

(For the reviewer who complained about vertical inverting, that can be quickly and easily changed in the game's preference settings.)
Warhawk is terrific fun for anyone who ran around the yard playing war as a kid, or who made "whiz bang" sound effects as he played with toy tanks, airplanes, and jeeps. It's easy to hop into a plane, tank, or jeep and zoom off, and just as much fun to run around as a ground trooper and blaze away at your foes with a wide variety of available weapons, from the sniper rifle to the land mine, to the RPG rifle, and the trusty pistol and assault rifle, and many more. (If you have a DualShock 3, it's a lot of fun to feel the rumble).
Unlike many other "shooter" games, the action is not bloody, let alone gory.
The game is designed to drop you into action fast. Unlike more "serious" games (Call of Duty 4, etc.) it is not designed to be extremely realistic, but rather just fun.
It has all the classic shooter modes, such as Capture the Flag, Deathmatch (every man for himself), Team Deathmatch (two teams squaring off), and one called Zone, in which you seek to control territory.
Although it's easier to learn and play than most other shooters, it can be a bit of a shock to play the first time (dying quickly and often), because it is multiplayer only, and even fellow "Recruits" (the least experienced) will likely be more familiar than you with the controls.
An update will provide a tutorial feature so that first-timers will have a bit less of a rude awakening.
Some players use Bluetooth headsets to talk to each other; and sometimes you can pick up their chatter if you're not wearing one. That chatter can be garbled and distracting; to avoid it I suggest joining only an online game that has no voice chat. Still, I had fun the other night playing solo against a team hearing them talk about me "he's over here! How did he do that? Look out!" and the like.
It can be annoying to be very involved in a game, only to have it abruptly end in a server disconnect. This has been improved through recent patches but still happens. Try only joining games in your region, and which have a low ping.
This game is now a great value at only $30 as part of the Greatest Hits collection. I highly recommend it. Don't miss it!

The graphics in the game are great. some of the best I have seen to date. however the game only has 1 option to play, and that is online. I didn't like that so I never bought it. I actually received it as a gift. I played it for about 2 weeks, and traded the whole thing in for a different game.
