Pros: Stunning Graphics, Gunplay, Driving, Smartphone, Chases, Online Cat and Mouse
Cons: Weak Voice Acting, Convoluted Story, Seemingly Empty Karma System With No Noticeable Repercussions
This game is arguably one of the most anticipated titles for the next gen consoles, and I have to say it looks stunning on the PS4. However, the game should look good since it was developed with next gen in mind. As with every game, the most important aspect is how it plays, not how it looks. Luckily, it plays at least as well as it looks. The driving mechanics are very good, the cover system is useful, the combat is realistic and exciting, and I have barely touched the online aspect of the game, but what I have done has been satisfying. My first impression of the game was GTA with a magic smartphone that does almost anything you can think. After playing for a while, I've realized that the game has so much more to offer than that. The only downside I have found is that the game's story is far reaching and inconsistent. Incident A leads to B leads to F leads to... I forgot why I am doing this current mission. Compounding this problem, the game's lead characters (and thus the story) are hindered by weak writing and voice acting. Secondary characters, on the other hand, are exceptional, which makes me wonder what happened in the development that allowed Ubisoft to overlook this glaring inconsistency in the game.
Overall, the story detracts from an otherwise great game, which is why I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Watchdogs is a great game for the PS4. It looks beautiful and the controls are excellent. The one problem I would say is the driving. It can be chaotic and police chases make this even more so. Overall it is a very fun game and I would suggest it to anyone that likes to be stealthy.

Good, not great game. Has some cool features like the multiplayer and hacking. Chicago looks pretty great. The story is a little meh, and the auto-controls make driving missions a little tedious. While it does not deliver on the 11/10 hype it received, it is still quite fun. 8/10.

Gift for DH - he said he can't think of anything negative to say about it. It is definitely a time suck though. As you're playing, you just want to do 'one more thing' before taking a break. The story line is interesting, and the open-world concept is massive - there is so much to do beyond the main campaign; little side missions & things to find/collect. Highly recommended.

Overall it's a pretty good game. Fun to play, good story and decent graphics. I like that it takes influence from games like GTA and Dark Souls. They did a good job adding a new flavor to older game design. I also like, how minor, the tablet/phone apps are integrated.

Having just received a PS4, I wanted a game that looked and played 'next gen'. Watch_Dogs is that game. The graphics are great and the transition between cinematic scenes to gameplay and back isn't jarring so you stay immersed in the game play.
I read reviews of the game before purchasing and saw many were comparing it to the recent GTA titles and because of that, I may have biased my opinion some, but with that said, it's still fun. The hacking doesn't really feel like hacking (yet, I've not had a lot of time to get really into the game - hoping it gets more involved). Right now, you just press and hold a button and your magic smartphone does the hacking for you. I guess I may have been expecting more along the lines of an old hacker game I played years ago but it's not so much that you can't enjoy the game.
Overall, the game looks great, controls work pretty well, and game content is good so far.

Great game, if you like the GTA series then you would definitely enjoy this one as well. While the hacking brings a little bit of nuance to this game, there is nothing groundbreaking here, but there is a ton to do. Besides the main campaign, there are many mini games to partake in, chess, poker, digital trips, etc. Overall a great game though, I will be playing this for a long time.

This game is alright. I gave it 4 stars mainly because of how nice the game looks from a graphics standpoint. There's a good amount of things you can do in the game...but it seems a little too repetitive. It's almost like the developers spent too much time trying to make it look good that they forgot to add the "fun" part. The graphics are definitely up to par and the amount of different guns and cars can definitely keep you busy for awhile. I like to think of this as a modern day Assassins Creed. You go around unlocking different areas by hacking into them, but it is still open world so you can go off on different tangents and side missions. I feel that this game has not reached its full potential and I would expect to see some downloadable content VERY soon. I would recommend this game...but if you can try it out at a friends house before you buy it then do that first.

I had high hopes for this game but was ultimately disappointed. The graphics are nice and most controls are fluid, but the gameplay leaves much to be desired. Although gunfights are supposed to take a backseat to hacking, they are often unavoidable and not fun. There are so many things wrong with this part of the game that I don't have the space or time to mention. Also, I find it annoying and unrealistic that you can walk into a gun store in Chicago and buy fully automatic weapons and grenade launchers. Really? It's Chicago. You can't buy a sling shot in Chicago. My other grief is with any mission, scene, whatever with a vehicle. Driving controls are awful and remind me of the first GTA.

Been waiting on this game to come out for awhile. Am not disappointed. I'm a huge fan of open world games like this. If you want to do a mission, cool. If you just want to run around for hours, you can do that too. The ability to hack certain objects is what makes this game unique. There is plenty to do in this game. Will keep you busy. Definitely worth the price

This game came burdened with alot of expectations when it debuted. It was billed as the smarter, stealthier, non-lethal-ier alternative to Grand Theft Auto. Plus, it was all set in real-life* Chicago. (*Most of the buildings are only "close" to their real counterparts, but it still looks close enough to be cool).
All of this sounds great! And the first few hours of the game are great! The driving wasn't so bad once you got used to it and the hacking allowed you to capture some control stations non lethally, which was lots of fun. Unfortunately, as the game went on you were essentially forced to use lethal force, because some of the missions had you going up against an army of guys in broad daylight with no shadows to sneak around in. Also, there's a hack where you can disable a helicopter temporarily, which is awesome when you're being pursued by police. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to hack a helicopter if you're driving a car or boat because of the dim-witted camera angle. So to evade a helicopter you basically have to park your car, hack the helicopter, and then get back in and drive. None of it really mattered though, because to evade even the highest-level police chase all you have to do is go to the El and ride it out of the chase area. It works every time and it kind of makes the whole idea of police chases stupid and pointless.
Another major letdown was the utterly uninspiring and uninteresting story. You're basically some small-time hacker who is out for revenge for your niece getting killed. The game is fun, considering you pay the right price.
There are little mini-games you can play that are genuinely fun and are a welcome escape from the main storyline. Also, the random multiplayer aspect of the game is kind of cool. You go to start a mission and all of a sudden it says "you are being hacked" and you have to find and eliminate the hacker (which is another person playing the game). It's pretty fun, but I got into the habit of just pulling out the grenade launcher and whenever I saw the hacker blowing him/her up. It made it way too easy to never get hacked, but was still more satisfying than completing story missions.

I loved the free world game. There are many things that u can do which other games canr offer for you. The missions are awesome even though sometimes you are only required to use stealth rather than passing the mission your own way.

I've had about 5 hours so far with this game and I really like it, more than I thought I would originally. The hacking concept may seem gimmicky at first, but it does give you some interesting options on how to play. Being able to avoid cops by drawing a bridge or blowing a steam pipe in the road is awesome. Using your phone to set up cover or blow up switches near an unsuspecting enemy is surprisingly satisfying. And there are many other things just like that in the game. I would say that's pretty much what separates this game from other similar games like GTA. Otherwise, it feels very much the same.
The graphics are pretty good, but I felt like they could've been better. Reminded me of GTA4 for PC. The story is dark and there's a bit of mystery to the plot, which fits really well with the game's premise of technology overreaching its intended use. One component of the game that surprised me is the online multiplayer. There are different modes, some new, and some old. The new ones involve invading someone else's game and trying to hack them or vice versa (like the Dark Souls games). The old ones include racing other players with your car. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this new series and I hope the next one will be even better.

The best game I have played on the PS4 and honestly one the funnest games I ever played. The gameplay and controls are buttery smooth. The graphics are absolutely beautiful. The city is alive and flooded with things to do. The story is actually pretty good but the real winner there are the missions. The layout of the missions give you so many possibilities to complete your objective. Every player can truly play there way. You could easily get 100 or more hours of enjoyment out of this game which makes it a bargain at 60 bucks. I recommend buying for any gamer really, especially if you enjoy open world, action, adventure, stealth games, or, if you just enjoy causing absolute chaos by hacking the city.

I purchased a Playstation 4 at launch just for this game. I had to wait, of course as it was delayed. I can say after a while of waiting, it was worth it. Graphics are top notch for a 1st generation game. It initially loads for about 48 seconds. Thereafter, everything is real time. Video games have definitely come a long way. I found myself completing most of the side missions and skipping the campaign altogether for a while. They are very creative and entertaining. Who would of thought a side mission would be something that you would actually want to play; let alone enjoy. The only downside (for me) is it will definitely consume all of your time. Discipline is a must. I don't normally play games, but when I do, I play Watch Dogs. Stay entertained my friends.

Great game, worth $38 I paid after GCU bonus. Driving needs major tweaking, hoping for an overhaul but we will see. Game is fun, they try their best to mix up the game play but some things will probably be repetitive.

Don't think of a GTA game when you're playing this. The open world environment is the only thing that's similar. Other than that it's completely different. A lot of technical gadgets to use and have fun with. Very similar to the Chicago landscape. Can play for hours and not even do a main mission. So many things to do.

I enjoy this game a lot, there is a lot to do, a bunch to unlock. Haven't played online yet but the campaign is great so far. Not so thrilled with the driving, feels like an old GTA but besides that I give it 4/5
