Easily installed. System noticeably faster with this new hard drive. Well worth the extra cost.

Fast, reliable and quiet hard drive. Very easy to install. The only thing is the special software that copies the OS from the existing HD does not work.

I went with the Western Digital Black (performance edition) because of previous experiences with Green drives (this was replacing a Green drive that decided to bad-block its way into crashing completely), even though this particular drive was about $30 more. I am not disappointed. Once Windows 10 was installed, I was up and running with no issues, and it's been humming along well. I have 2 other Black (performance) drives in a RAID array on another system that are both about 5-6 years old and are still running at great speeds. Although not an SSD drive, I still am quite pleased with it. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 on this product was that the first drive I got was bad. Best Buy replaced it with no hassle.

This drive comes with 5 year warranty. It is very quiet and fast for a non solid state drive.

I have never had problems with WD. The drive is quiet compared to other drives i have used in the past. It doesn’t come with cloning software, however there is a link on WD’s site for the software. You will have to search the website as the marketing material is incorrect regarding the web link for software download. Pro Tip: if upgrading your hard drive, you will need a spare SATA data cable along with a SATA power cable.

I used it in a budget gaming rig that I did not want to put an SSD into and wanted and needed storage capacity for the larger free games out there. Excellent solution in my case (no pun intended) and a good warranty for piece of mind.

I purchased it as a replacement for my 10 yr old WD green drive. In my opinion mechanical drives are as durable as the ssd. I’ve used both mechanical types of drives. They my not be as fast as ssd‘s but for the price point, it's hard to beat the quality of the WD drives. The 5yr warranty of the drive was also a factor in my decision to purchase.

Besides a SSD, this is one of the best drives you can buy for your computer. WD Black drives carry a 5 year warranty which is the best you can get for a mechanical drive. They have never let me down. It is becoming harder and harder to find mechanical drives with good warranties as SSDs become the mainstream. To get this on the daily deal from Best Buy was done without hesitation.

Was easy to install into my computer, I've never had issues with this HDD and it's got fast read/write speeds with plenty of storage. great for Games and video editing alike. Highly Recommend

old drive kicked the bucket and i needed a fast drive to continue my video editing and web surfing. these drives and edit 1080 but I would hold out much hope for 4K - better to have the 970 Pro NVMe M.2 Nand SSD for something like that. But if your just surfing the web, need storage or replacing a drive in an older system this is perfect.

WD Black 1TB makes a good OS Boot drive and Storage Drive for Windows,Linux and OSX. I have also used Black drives for nas builds but would recommend for nas WD Red Pro or any other brand that offers nas drives. but no matter what WD drive you go with they are easy to install and easy to install your OS on them.

I have been using this for some time and have to say I am pleased with the overall performance. Use it for some light gaming occasionally as well as the usual software related functions. The warranty of the drive was also a major factor in the decision to purchase.

I like doing alot of research before shelling out cash on a component. The WD Black was a recurring theme in fast, stable drives for high performance gaming and video editing, and it works as expected from a hard drive, definitely faster than a cheap drive though.

This was installed in a VCR (Video Security System). Works great and records as it should do. It's quick to retrieve what video you want and it a quiet drive. I am Happy with it.

Went into the computer well, loaded up software and it is working. I think the original problem was somewhere else in the PC as it has still occurred twice. However, the disk is working and I have a very good warranty all for a very good price.

Installed easy into my computer tower. Installed windows and off to the races. Have not had a problem with the drive as of writing this and hope it last a long time.

Have been using Western Digital hard drives for years and have always gotten good use and performance. The Black Drive is a 7200 RPM drive designed for performance. Have used for gaming in pre-SSD days. Recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised at just how fast this standard technology {non-hybrid} drive With a lower cost than solid state or hybrid technology , it offers the performance required for servers and even gaming PC's.

bought this during covid to build my own computer... my new system boots up in seconds and it very quite now using this SSD have not even put a dent in the storage.
