I got this to store data. It was easy setup and is fast. it also comes with 5 year warranty. the 6 TB model comes with more cache but I could not get it to properly format. I got this and formatted it in GPT. I also setup a my duo 8TB in RAID 1 for auto backup to any data I put on this drive. IMHO, you can't go wrong with WD drives.

I've always been a fan of the WD "Black" series of drives. I typically build my own systems, and as far as non-SSD drives go, I consider these to be the best value/performance for your dollar. I recently built a new system and these 4TB are perfect for my storage needs. I put two of these in and have them partitioned as 4, 2-TB logical drives. Plenty of room for photos, movies and of course, backups. As for the performance, if I wasn't using an SSD for my primary drive, I'd have no problem using one of these.

It was easy to install and runs smoothly. No hiccups, or lost data so far.

Big size hard disk. I've had it for couple of months, no problems so far. It's quiet as well. I'm happy with it. I don't see anything negatives about it. Once connected, was recognized by Windows. Go to disk management. The disk will be "Unallocated". All you have to do is partition and format the disk.

I bought this drive and so far (2 months) it's worked great! No issues and it's fast.

the Black series hard drives have the best Warranties of any i have purchased

My wife is a Photographer and when she downloads pictures to work on them it takes up a lot of memory. We spoke to our IT guy which recommended first external hard drives but we filed them up as well. We noticed that by adding another hard drive it improved the performance of the machine and this one did the trick.

I bought this to replace a dead WD Black drive. So far, so good.
