The speed is noticeable but unfortunately After a year it fails, bought 2 so one still good, WD my preferred brand so probably is a defective one. Im glad it Still under warranty.

I am using this drive in a USB 3.0 connected external dock along with a 4TB WD NAS drive bought at the same time. I use it to backup Photos using Acronis TrueImage backup for WD. The highest speed of writing as displayed by the Backup software has been 1143 MBps while doing 1.1 TB full backup. More commonly for the differential backups I get around 514 MBPs (1.8GB backed up in 3.5 minutes). Compare this to the 4TB Blue NAS Drive which clocked 884 MBps for a full backup and typically 132MBps on a differential backup. Note these are not true benchmarks as they depend on a lot of factors: what's going on the PC and the disk from which the data is being read and differential backups particularly are based on what has changed so the backup software is also coming into play. One issue with this drive is that I was unable to register it on WD website and I have a case open with them.

I use this as a hard drive for games, alongside my Samsung M.2 operating system drives, which are significantly more expensive. I basically have a three-tier setup...M.2's for OS and applications that need a lot of performance, this SSD for intermediate performance applications/games, and mechanical drives for larger storage. I've got several of these WD Blue SSDs and they all work flawlessly, and performance is quite good. Reliability has been good so far on the older ones as well. And the price point is good. Overall, I have no problem recommending this drive.

Great price, nice and fast. This line is more durable than WD's green line of drives. Should last a few years, no worries. It's an internal drive, so it takes some work to install it, but it's not bad.

I replaced a hdd in my 10 year old laptop because windows 10 took about 10-15 minutes to boot up. This new hard drive took that down to about 15 seconds from button push, thru password, to home screen!! Originally 349, got for 199. Worth every penny. SSD is the future and I have arrived

Sustained write speeds are 448 M/s. Samsung only can do 106. This hard drive is cheaper and is 4x faster than Samsung QVO and EVO. Highly recommended. Still have to partition the drive when you first install it.

Replacement hard drive, SATA drive had slowed down terribly, this is a very fast drive. Western Digital provides a dashboard which monitors the health of the drive, a nice feature.

Upgraded my SATA HD to this SATA SSD and it provided a significant performance increase in speed to my old PC. Easily ghosted my primary drive for free using third party software. DO NOT USE Acronis True Image software to ghost your drive. Its free for WD drives but it is super slow and buggy in my experience.

Another good drive from WD. Fast read/write speeds and easy install for anyone familiar with SATA... even if you aren't, lots of YouTube videos showing install and setup. No issues in the year of daily use so far.

I thought this would be a good substitute for my hard drive in the past, but it wasn't because it died within a few days... Not really recommended for my opinion. I feel like this would be more used for work than gaming.

Works great, just know this in a “replacement” drive and it doesn’t come with any screws and or cables.. I had to provide my own hardware.
