This drive failed only after 17 days of use. It was outside the return policy for Bestbuy but I was able to get it returned via RMA to WesternDigital. The new drive works so far. The replacement drive was sent fast and the money on hold on my CC was released quickly. I am an IT Specialist and have seen drives fail out of the box. It is bound to happen. It was easy for me to get it returned to WD and get a replacement with no issues.

The perfect & nearly identical replacement WD conventional 2.5" HDD for my Swann security console. The other 1 that finally failed had been spinning since Feb '13. I feel safer already!

Dell worked with me to provide important information on a disk for Best Buy's Geek Squad's use in replacing my hard drive. There was only a 9-day turnaround from the moment I took it into Best Buy...and the day I walked out with my computer turn-keyed. That's unheard of...especially with the coordination of service/product information that was needed to ensure the repair and replacement would actually happen. And, I was the middle-man! Dell treated me with the utmost respect as a consumer...realizing Best Buy was indeed willing and able to repair their product versus Dell thwarting repair efforts in hope of me purchasing a new Dell laptop. It never crossed my mind...as I received, "flash-drive service". In retrospect, that ideal experience...was not coincidental...but intentional...from both parties. Therefore, I envision myself purchasing a Dell in the future, from Best Buy, due to the spectacular service experience I incurred. That's a "match made in heaven"...and I am living on earth! Envisioning myself purchasing another Dell is a big statement coming from me, considering I have mentally prepared myself for the day when I can afford an Apple product...this is definitely a head-turner experience. I like the advancements available in Apple technology...but, I don't have to incur more expense to receive a quality product. I believe everyone should have access to affordable technology...ranging from our very young...to our very old...and in that regard, I think it should be free for them after a certain threshold of age! I would love to open their eyes to the "promised land" while they are here on earth! Our elderly suffer with tunnel-vision while the rest of the population's world is opening to vision beyond belief. We can connect them with phone service through their internet...and they wouldn't have to incur a mobile service charge. Now, we're talking about freedom!!! (A girl's gotta dream...). Again...an affordable product and service provider would make this doable. So, let's re-cap... the disk from Dell came overnight mail at no charge to me, the hard drive cost was $49, purchased at Best Buy, and my Geek Squad service price was exactly what I was quoted before the hard drive failure discovery. I'd say that's a "fair shake". My Dell computer is polished up shiny and new...and cruisin' at speeds as originally intended to. This family of 3 is especially grateful as we share this 1 device, and it accommodates all of our needs...efficiently and effectively. Thanks Dell and Best Buy...we make a great team! :)

The hard drive for my laptop failed and I needed a quick replacement, this gave decent storage for the price, and I personally found Western Digital drives to be better in general than others (Looking at you, Seagate). This is no SSD, no 7,200 RPM drive, but it will perform as advertised.

The HDD on one of our laptops was damaged after being dropped, so I did some research for replacements on a budget. I decided on this one as it was not only within budget (under $60), it had twice the space of the old hard drive. Although it did not come with instructions on installation, just a recommendation for having it done by a professional. It was fairly straight forward - Remove the back cover, unscrew old HDD and switch it out. For those who may not know, you will need to install an operating system, such as Windows.

Even though this drive was a little thinner then the drive it replaced; it installed with no problem. Worked from the start with no issues.

This hard drive lives up to the Western Digital reputation of solid reliability. It went into my wife's laptop, and has been working well day in and day out since. The drive could not have been easier to install: open the bottom of the laptop, pop out the old drive, pop in the new WD drive, and replace the cover. I had to use my restore disks to get the laptop to the setup leaving the store, but this is needed regardless the hard drive. I am very pleased with the purchase.

This is my 2nd PS3 Hard drive replacement (upgrade) both with the same type of reliable hard drive. I need to make my 160 PS3 to an 500GB PS3. works very well and easy to upgrade.

I bought this to replace a failed Toshiba drive in a Toshiba laptop. I had read of others having failure with Toshiba drives and decided not to buy that brand, even though it was slightly cheaper. This drive had good reviews, the install was easy, and it has been working flawlessly.

Replaced the drive in my parents laptop. The original drive had 250 MB. I replaced it with this drive and they have more room to upload pictures and other documents. It also helps the laptop run faster. They are very pleased with this.

Often i think using an HDD like the WD Blue isn't going to benefit my laptops very much but I have been surprised each time I install a new one. My Laptop runs faster albeit not the speed of an SSD but if you are doing large file storage which are reading and writing intensive a new HDD performs quiet well. These are very affordable and if I have to do a new OS install and transfer data I prefer to buy a new drive rather than back up then transfer back to a reformatted drive.

I purchased this hard drive for my wife's Mac book Pro over the holidays. The price was great and the installation was pretty simple. I'm a fan of WD drives so I got the quality Ive grown to love at a price I can live with.

I purchased this product, because my hard drive was over 5 years old. It is as comparable to the hard drive that came with my computer. Compatible with Mac and did not cost me my life savings.

I have only had this hard drive for about a month but so far it is working great and the price was right. I did some comparison shopping and didn't find anything that was considerably cheaper.
