Great product and always worth the money. I own a dozen of the easy store drives for different uses and I’ve only had one go out and WD took care of it.

The speed is great, as is the capacity--especially when you factor in the price of $223 I paid plus lots of points toward certificates. BUT...like others stated in their reviews: there is a clicking/clunking sound frequently coming from inside the case that gets annoying if you leave this plugged in continuously and keep the unit close by.

This is my 6th WD Easystore and 1st in this size. Pro: good value on sale & perfect for backing up. Con: makes a (surprisingly loud) noise periodically, but that's apparently some kind of internal maintenance.

for the 1st year it seemed really good, now 1 year & 1 month in its starting to clatter, & I still have almost 6 TB of space left. Not sure that was a good $300 expenditure...

Great for the price. I have tons of media and different devices to back up. This does the job. Transfer rate is not bad either.

Have not had it long, but first impressions are that it is everything that I hoped for. It is compact, quiet, fast and a great price.

Easy to use, lots of storage space, but requires being plugged in to AC power.

Large, inexpensive and can be shucked with relative ease

This disk drive has oodles of storage space and allowed me to consolidate a nearly full 8TB drive with a nearly full 4TB drive with room to spare. This makes my file organization better because now I don't have to look in two different places for stuff. I've been using WD drives for at least the past 8 years now and haven't had any problems.

It's a lot of storage for a decent price when on sale. WD makes some nice hard drives that hold up pretty well..

I'm happy with the 2nd delivery of this 16TB drive, but the problem with the first one had more to do with Best Buy that Western Digital. My first one was delayed, took 10 days to get to my destination, but I knew it was going to be damaged as standard shipment meant a lot of stops and a lot of throwing around the package that the Easystore was put in. I mean there was zero protection and the box was way to big, so this poor external hard drive must have been getting knocked around something terrible. So, obviously when it arrived, I immediately did a thorough drive test. Needless to say it failed right out of the gates from a simple drive check, then it went all down hill from there. I'd bet the farm that the treatment of the outer box, no matter how so called protected this drive was in its own box, couldn't sustain that kind of abuse. Anyway, no problem on getting reimbursed for the return shipment and I asked for a replacement, but was willing to pay 2 day shipping in an attempt to avoid it getting thrown around so much for so long. Fortunately the box that this one came in was smaller and everything checked out on a health level. Good thing was Best Buy reimbursed me for the 2 day shipping. Probably looked at the circumstances and thought that wasn't his fault, so I appreciated that gesture. 16TB is a lot to lose if it's filled will Data. Fortunately I'm a backup kind of person and have two of the same filled with the same data, because you just never know. This has served me and has been my number one advice to anyone with data. Always and I mean always have a backup of everything that means anything to you. I'm giving this 4 stars. Not for the product, but deducting one less star aimed at Best Buy's shipping team. Look at what you're shipping. If it's vulnerable on a tech level, make sure there's packing and the box is even remotely close to the size of the product's box. If you don't, you'll be receiving more unnecessary returns than if you had just spent a little more common sense time and shipped it right.

drives work great, super reliable and fast. upgraded from 8tb drives. hope the prices can come back down to normal again.

Awesome drive. This was my second 16tb easy store drive. Nice looking and lots of space. In total this is my 8th Western Digital easy store. They all work great. I have the 4tb, 8tb, the 12tb, and now the 16tb. All purchased from Best Buy.
