It was purchased to replace another similar device which was getting loose in the connections and would sometimes lose contact. The cables and ends are much sturdier than the previous one I had so I expect it will last a lot longer. There have been no issues with data storage or transfers. The portability of it is the main reason I got it and so far it meets all expectations!
