Great hard drive! I highly recommend this ~ easy set up!

Pretty nice HDD for the price, easy setup and easy to use

I'm a big fan of WD external drives so I knew what I was getting. Right out of the box it was ready to go. No formatting necessary as I was using it as a capture device for my XBOX One S and X. I even bought 2 because the Black Friday price was to good to pass up.

Everything we expected out of the unit. Yes its larger than the poket units, but the storage capacity is the limiting factor.

What can I say it’s an external hard drive. Works as expected and high-capacity is excellent. At the time of purchase this was the best bang for the buck. I have had no issues yet and I’m happy with it

I needed a drive that would store a large amount of data, long term, and this drive fills the bill. Operation is very quiet and speed is satisfactory over USB. As always, make sure you have alternate copies of critical data files as no method of storage is forever.

With the HUGE data storage tasks I have to deal with (4k video; high bit-rate WAV audio production, engineering data management tasks, etc.) I need BIG storage tanks to keep projects in one place and not 'spread out' over several computers. This is the way to go.

If you want tons of space to save things like pictures, video games, tv shows, movies....etc.....etc.....this is something for you. With that many TB this will go a long ways.

What is not to love about this. These externals contain WD's NAS RED drives. Depending on if it is from Thailand (256mb cache) or China (128mb cache) it is an amaaaazing buy. If you were to buy these as internal drives they cost almost $100 more. HEADS UP: If you shuck the drive you void the warranty but I have never had problems with these drives. Talk about a SUUUUUPER buy. Perfect for PLEX server.

I am a avid pic taker so I have thousands of pics have a smaller version of this and it was full time for a new one...

Why spend money on another monthly fee for more and more cloud space when this is a one and done solution.

I have another WD 3TB external hard drive that I used for 2-3 years before filling it up with family pics and videos. It worked great and still does. I read reviews on this 8TB unit and the internal workings are listed to be state of the art and very dependable. I was hesitant to get 8 TB but the price was so good that I couldn't pass it up. It has worked flawlessly so far and should last me a long time with that much capacity. Well pleased with WD products. The customer service is super, the few times I have had questions about the unit.

Now I can download all my classic flix and not worry about running out of room. I really needed the storage space.

Very happy with my purchase of this external hard drive. Was very easy to transfer all of my pictures and documents from my old desktop to the hard drive.

Bought these to store a ton of video footage for a documentary that I was involved in shooting and they worked out just great. Gave me lots of storage space and are plug and play.

Ridiculous amount of storage. We got it to add space to the PS5. Works great with it.

Usage: transfer files from main drive to free up space... Main drive for classwork!
