It's the only external hard drive I use.
None have failed me.
They are filled with many treasures for my older years.

Second easystore in about 5 years. The old one is still going strong. Bought this for a backup no problems. Averaging through USB about 225 Mbs. WD80EDAZ-11CEWB0 is what is inside read with crystalmark.

This drive is big (8TB) and fast. I'm getting 200+ MB/s transfer rates (verified by timing large file transfers as well as benchmark utilities like Crystal DriveMark). I'm extremely happy with the performance. Prior to getting this drive, I had tried a Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB, which was slow (often sub 100 MB/s) and inconsistent (maybe 130 MB/s one time, then 90 the next, then 150, then 70), which I returned and got the Western Digital Easystore instead. The Western Digital was $30 more expensive, but it's worth it because it performs so much better. I've seen some reviews saying that it is loud. I have not found that to be the case at all.

Great drive to shuck and use as internal storage

Great deal given the capacity. The price per GB is unmatched in the current desktop hard drive market. After shucking the drive out of its enclosure, I found that it is a Western Digital WD80EDAZ (mostly rebranded western digital Red). It's a reliable drive, but is obviously slow given it is 5400rpm, and it does get hot under continuous throughput. If you plan on doing what I am doing, which is using it as an internal storage in a desktop, make sure to have a fan blowing intake air somewhere close by, otherwise it could overheat.

Ease of use, very easy to set-up, just plug and play, no difficulty getting is linked to the computer. File transfer is fast using 3.0. Does not get hot when plugged in for extended periods. Very good quality. Works smoothly on Apple OS. Store associate that recommended this storage external drive did excellent job. Value of purchase is great, was able to price match and beat Amazon's price.

I have been using these External WD Hard Drives for years and they just get better and easier to connect and operate.
They seem to come down in price, which is excellent.
Easy and fast hook-up to back up all your files, pictures, etc.

Power glitches from our local LA utility company meant our video/audio studio kept losing hard drives (and occasionally entire computers). While we have a vast collection of pro-grade external drives, these 8G WDs are inexpensive, work well, and are an excellent way to back up data when you're really in a bind.

I own more than 12 of these. I typically get the WD My Book model but the store was out. Thus far, no problems. I have long been impressed with their reliability. I also feel the price/value is fair. I'm sure that when this one gets full I'll be getting another.

This is a nice compact 8TB drive with USB 3 speed. I've been using this particular drive with rsync on a linux box to backup part of my NAS system. No weird sleep modes, no timeouts, no failure to spin up after power save kicks in, all in all a good deal for this amount of storage. This is my 3rd 8TB unit, along with a number of the same make 2, 3, and 4TB external drives. They have been reliable and work well with both Windows and Linux machines using SMB for multiplatform shares. Handy hint: Use grsync front end for rsync on linux boxes and the weird quirky parameter issues for mixing SMB and USB shares just go away.

I don't know how I will ever use all of this space. The drive performs as expected, although it does run a little warm, it would have been nice if they put a fan in the unit to help keep the unit cool, heat = hard drive failure so we'll see how long it lasts, but so far so so good

I have bought several Western Digital hard drives over the years and have always been satisfied. It would be great if they had USB-C inputs so they would be faster but for the money, I think they're a good value.

You don't realize how fast you can use up storage space when you have a Home Theater PC. I'd been reading about these particular external hard drives on reddit and how versatile they were. They are easily stackable if needed. These are such a bargain and hold everything I need.

Easy to use right out of the box. Plenty of space inside and small footprint outside. Trusted Western Digital product.

I run my own graphic design and videography business and needed a new external drive to replace one that I had filled up. I was looking at the 4TB version and saw the 8TB on sale for an amazing price. After several mishaps with Seagate drives, I typically only use Western Digital and this one does not disappoint. It has a lot of storage capabilities and was a breeze to set up. I use a Mac and it comes formatted for PC, but it was really easy to format for use on my Mac. As video and graphics work requires a lot of storage space, I will definitely be picking up another or more of these!

Western Digital always deliver excellent quality and performance in every product I have purchased. I am using this external drive as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device connected to my router USB port. I love the storage capacity the WD - Easystore 8TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive adds to my home network without the need of having to pay a monthly cloud storage subscription to backup my important documents, files, music, and photos.
