This particular product extends and surpasses the expectation of storage, connectivity, and size. I use this product to store my pics and videos. I have very large database of pics and it keeps adding every week. It is very easy and fast to transfer pics from laptop to this hard drive. This portable hard drive is very sturdy and works perfectly fine even after a drop on the floor. It does come with the Cable. Great price and great customer service from WD. When you buy this particular product from the best buy make sure about the return policy (If you ever have to return or if you don't like this product, which might be unusual) for this product.

Hard drive does not have firmware upgrade to allow it to play with my Samsung LED 55in TV. So, this hard drive shows no videos after plugged into multiple USB ports on TV. It will only show videos on my laptop and other computers. I returned the item back to store.

I purchased this 1 TB external hard drive as a $40 Deal of the Day for my Playstation 4. The hard drive has functioned well without issue. I did not realize the PS4 did not have a USB port in the back and had to plug the USB cable into a front port, but the USB cable was just long enough to allow the slim designed drive to tuck right in behind my PS4. I have purchased more downloadable games than expected since I purchased the drive. In retrospect I wish I had purchased at least a 2 TB or larger, and would recommend you purchase at least the next size up hard drive for your PS4 than you think you might need, of course limited by what you can afford, but the price of external hard drives continues to go down. Gaming storage trends continues to move more toward downloads and less on physical hard copy discs of games. Good gaming everyone.

Note: I HAVE tested this hard drive on BOTH PC & MAC operating systems, and they both work immaculately well. If need be, sometimes it is recommend to partition your hard drive BEFORE you test your hard drives on different platforms.*
This hard drive is a steal. Not only is it compact, but it gets the job done when it comes to placing files within the hard drive, and making life a breeze.
Be mindful that sometimes older computers cannot detect 3.0 based usbs for devices, but this one is quite helpful in both 3.0 and 2.0 ports. If you're not sure that the device isn't being read by your computer, simply shut down the computer (Not just the restart button), and power your computer back on. I can guarantee you, your issues will be resolved.
So far, have had this 1TB drive for well over a month, and I can confidently say, that Western Digital is not only one of the best company's out there today, but the do make quality products.

I bought this to use as additional storage space for my Xbox One. Out of the box worked perfectly for my purposes. Plugged it in and it was recognized, completed the initial formatting so I could move my games to it. Transferred most of my stuff off my main hard drive to this. It seems to load things faster and I have freed up my internal storage, so my Xbox runs smoother. Overall a great buy when it was on sale for $40, would recommend this to anyone!

It is a great drive at a great price. Small, hides nicely behind the Xbox One. Doesn't take up much space and doubles the storage.

Lots of storage at a reasonable price, and works off USB power - no need for a separate power connection. I have had it for six months now with no problems. Note that I do not keep it connected all the time. I keep it offline and use it for regular backups in case my PC crashes or I get hacked. I do the backups with the internet off. It is faster than the older terabyte drives that I have, which require a separate power connection, but I don't ask for much by way of speed.

Easy to use but the software directions were difficult to understand. The file for them wasn't marked clearly and when I figured out which one it was, the directions were totally off about how to download the software. FYI: the software file doesn't come with the item like the directions say it should. I ended up going to the website to download that and even then the software needed for the particular model wasn't easy to find.

Compact size, easy to use, PC and MAC compatible. Not the fastest drive on the market but will handle most storage needs for backups. I probably would not use this as a NAS drive due to its slower access speed.

A smart, compact backup drive that I use with my Mac Bookbook Pro laptop. A snap to set up, and easy to use with Mac's Time Machine. I chose the 1 TB size, and it's a very good buy at the price.

Well, I don't usually do too many reviews, but I felt the need on this one... for those who might need the info.
I was dangerously low on memory for my XBOX 360, and after wading through endless reviews trying to figure out if this WD ELEMENTS 1TB External drive was acceptable as an extended memory supply for my 360, I realize that I wasn't finding a straight-forward enough answer. Only comments pertaining to the next-gen systems where popping up. And, knock me for being out-of-date, but I honestly prefer and play more of my 360 games over the newer stuff that's currently out there. But, I don't have anymore memory left to download all the super-cheap deals XBOX LIVE is having on their "old" titles. So, I figured, for the AWESOME Deal-Of-The-Day price($34.99) that Best Buy periodically throws these drives up for on their site, it was well worth the gamble. Well, all in all, IT WORKS GREAT! Plus, simple USB Plug-N-Play functionality, too! No software needed(or included). It just takes a quick reformatting before use, then you are good to go!
Also, being a 3.0 drive(as well as 2.0 backwards compatible), when needed, it will be a good source of extra memory for my XBOX ONE as well. :)
Highly recommended!

I missed the $39.95 sale on this by a day, and so took advantage of a coupon that reduced it to $44.95 - which is a good price for a TB of portable storage. Item just plugs in and works on Windows, no surprises; it transfers data at the speed I expect more or less, and just does what I want for my portable storage needs.
This is my 3rd WD MyPassport, 500GB, 1TB and 1TB, and I use them on multiple machines in multiple locations, plus use them for backing up (routinely) and transferring data (when setting up a new machine)
