Purchased this external hard drive specifically to set it up and use it as a huge block of storage for the Wii U console (which has an extraordinarily small on-board storage system). This WD external hard drive was extremely fast to set up, integrate with the system, and runs very quiet compared to other external HD I've owned in the past. Now I'm able to download whatever I want from the Wii U Nintendo Shop without having to worry about managing storage space. The Delxue version of the Wii U only has ~25 GB of available storage, and this purchase allowed me to essentially multiply the available storage by 80x.

Easy to setup with USB. Took just a few minutes, then I was copying files to it. I use it as a backup device. Highly recommended.

This external hard drive works perfectly and is one that is compatible with the Wii U. It is also very easy to setup.

I normally use SS external hard drives, but I needed a regular hard drive with a power adapter for my Wii U. I'm happy to report that it works perfectly fine and was easy to set up. Of course it's bigger and has more cords than what I'm used to, but I blame Nintendo for those annoyances. It's perfect for my needs and I haven't had any problems so far.

Got this drive to replace a smaller one hooked up to my DVR. No lack of space now. Easy hook up.

I bought the My Book device as the backup for my PC workstation. Setup seemed easy, but it turned out that only my C: drive was backing up. The E: drive was found, but would not back up. I was pleased and impressed to discover that WD had live customer support for new purchases with set-up issues. The Customer Service guy worked diligently to solve the problem and was able to get me up and running. The answer was to re-boot--d'OH! I hope never to need the data on this drive, but it has been working smoothly, backing up files constantly for over a month now.

Very user friendly when setting up, plug and ready to go is a bonus for the novice user.

I like the product. Four different desktop icons pop up after installing. I used to have a seagate-1tb. I think the seagate was easier to use, but I bought this-wd 2tb on sale for half the price that I paid for the seagate 1tb. It works. I'm still learning my way around the different desktop icons. Seagate had them all under one icon. I have to say I like seagate better but again this works and was on sale and a lot of people recommended it.

Easy to set up, easy to use - good value for price. And, it looks good on my desk :)

The 2TB version of Western Digital's MyBook, was purchased to have the flexibility of use with both a Windows XP system, and, a Windows 10 system. The external hard drive came preformatted for a PC, facilitating immediate use. The WD 2TB external hard drive was easily connected, working well with both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 interfaces. No problems in use were encountered. Very quiet.

I'm using the 2TB MyBook as an external hard drive with my Dish vip722 DVR. Works great. Allows me to transfer the recordings off the DVR on the external hard drive, which frees up space on the DVR. Holds hundreds of HD movies. Setting it up to work with the Dish DVR was easy using Dish's instructions for external hard drive use. FYI, Dish told me that a 2TB external hard drive is the maximum size the DVR will support and the hard drive has to be self powered (not USB powered).

Set up was a no brainer. Simple plug and go. Worked great right out of the box

I bought this to transfer my Dish DVR programs over to a new receiver and it worked great. I wish I could have bought a larger one but dish will not support anything over 2TB. I have three other WD hard drives and they all work great too. Highly recommend Western Digital.

my desktop was getting very slow and laggy because i used up the all the built in storage. i bought this western digital hard drive because western digital is a brand that i trust very much. i have moved all of my pictures, videos, and documents over to the western digital and now my desktop is free and performs much better now.

This was very easy to set up and is simple to use, especially for someone who doesn't know much about computers!

Very user friendly! Its compact size is great to leave on the desktop. While I can't comment on the restore feature that I hope to never use, the back up was so easy and quick I backed up everything. It lets you choose how often to back up, but since it's so small, I leave it on to continually back up any updates.

The software needed to be simple and easy to understand and automatic, and it is. Hopefully I'll never need it, but the size and the price for the feeling of 'security' was beyond worth it. If it crashes or doesn't work as advertised, now that I have written this review, I will get back to you.

Picked this drive up to expand the storage on my Wii U, and it worked like a charm. I'd have preferred a drive without an external power requirement, but that's the Wii U's fault and not the drive's. Good value, fast drive.
