As all WD HD;'s I have had before this one preformed as I expected. I would have been able to back up my laptop as I expected to do had a (professional) at Staples known what he was doing or simply followed my detailed instructions, but that is not what happened. Purchased this item for use as an external storage device for my Xbox One and it works great.

As the title states used this to expand storage on a XBOX ONE. Hooking it up was simple. Its a cheaper choice per gigabyte. However you need an extra wall outlet to use this over some of the smaller HDD. You can choose what to keep on the your XBOX HDD or on this one.

My son quickly ran out of space in his Xbox One (ok, who am I kidding, I filled it up). I read several decent reviews about this external drive. So far, I'm pretty happy with it. It was very easy to format and connect. I haven't had any issues. I have noticed, but it was my fault, that when I tried to queu several things to transfer from the console to the drive, the transfer slowed down tremendously. It acted as if it were trying to transfer everything at once, instead of one item at a time. I may have done something wrong, though.

We have several WD external hard drives. They are easy to use and we have never lost anything.

My Notebook is easy to use, just another drive to transfer and store all pictures, movies, music, programs. Can just unplug and go to access at another location. Easy to stand up and place another side by side if more storage needed. Holds the transferred data compactly to utilize space.

Works as expected, providing much-needed storage for my growing library of XBOX One games. Loads are fast and seamless. My one concern is with the activity light that constantly blinks when the system is off (I have my X1's automatic-on feature turned off). I haven't had time to look for a setting in the hard drive that might enable me to turn this off. As an aside: I find it interesting how extra storage space is psychologically comforting whether it be for a gaming system, a DVR or a smart phone. Funny times we're living in...
