This is the secon WD My book, I like the ease of the set up and the way I can customize what I backup and how often. That amount of storage space will help keep all of my images safe.

one of the things that distinguishes an item as simple as a HDD, can be the software it comes with. The WD software allows you to manage all the external discs on your computer regardless of the manufacturer and it's very well thought out. A drive is a drive but at least WD added something worth while.

Was iriginally boufht for my son to hook up to his PS4,but found out could not as it would void warranty.......few days later our desktop srarted acting weird,so my husband plugged in......we have to replace a driver.....so it's being used right now. ......so,I'm glad we gad it when we did.

I went with this after buying a Seagate internal of the same size but had to return it because I was unable to format it. This was the first time that happened I have 4 3tb and 2 4tb and never a problem. But never had an external that didn't work out of the box yet great transfer speeds for usb

Purchased this to expand current storage. I have always bought the WD brand and never have any issues with them. This hard drive was purchased at a bargain price. Would highly recommend it.

The E book has helped so I don't know what I ever did before I knew something like this was even out there...thank you for bringing there for us people that didn't know they really did need Best buy all this time.

We use these drives all the time for backups on servers and workstation. WD is one of the only manufacturers that gives you tools to adjust the formatting on these drives so they will work with legacy systems.

When you need to get a hard drive because there is too much stuff loaded on your gaming device, this is the one you want to go with - don't waste your time getting something smaller. Well worth the money spent.

Bought this 3tb external hard drive hoping to do back ups as well as store movies and whatever else really and it's done everything I needed and more. The only problem is the speed. It takes a while to transfer bigger files and data but will still get the job done for everything you need.

Easy set up and large enough for two computers and many other large files. No complaints on speed or anything else.

Nobody else comes close to WDs quality. All other brands have failed me big time. My last 2 new Dell Computers have failed hard drives in the first year. They were both Toshiba. So I do not buy Dell anymore.

Easy to setup. Big capacity at a very reasonable price. Has performed well so far for external data storage and for automated backup. Good value for the money and performs fine.

I bought this to store my gopro videos and other computer files and it's great! It's a little slow to open the folders but I have the older USB so once I upgrade USB I'm positive it'll be even better!

I use these things almost everyday. Backing up data is the most important thing you can do. Buy a drive and protect your self. You will sleep better and can thank me later.

This is a great external hard drive for my desktop. I put huge files of videos, photo, and other documents for my business promotion and marketing stuff. With the power source, it isn't as convenient to have this move around. However, you should know about this before making the purchase. If you're looking for something portable, get WD's passport hard drives. They are much smaller, lighter, and portable. This one is perfect for home usage!

good investment as it is easy to use and get going. Backs up the laptop well so gives you peace of mind at a reasonable price.

I used this hard drive to add on to my Xbox one hard drive. Its actually much faster reading then the actual xbox hard drive. I transferred all my games there with out a problem and plug and play

This is a replacement for a seagate that went belly up in less than a year. It is used primarily as a backup disk for my wife's computer. She has a lot of embroidery and quilt designs that she has collected over the past 10 years. Tried using the included backup software, but when it was done backing up (takes a little over a day), a comparison between the backup and the original shows that there are over a 1,000 files that were not backed up. So I disabled the backup software and she is now backing up manually (which she has done before). I was disappointed that the backup software didn't do the job.

Reliable memory storage. Plenty of room and easy to transfer photos and other personal stuff.

This item was purchased to back up an office desktop at our church. I use it along with synctoy and it is perfect for that application.
