It was virtually plug-and-play. installed the backup software and followed the wizard instructions. If you are a typical user (no custom file locations used...aka... a techie) then it sets itself up and you don't even need to worry about it. I'm a techie and tested the backup and restore features to make sure it worked, and it did! I didn't have to tweak a thing.

This product is easy to install and use. The product pricing is good.

This external hard drive has plenty of storage and east to hook up out of package. No complaints!

This was a replacement backup as I needed more space. I installed it and had all of my files from the old hard drive in less than 30 minutes. The software that is included with the drive works just as advertised. With Western Digital you can't go wrong. I would get another one and recommend it. Very reliable and that is what you need in a backup hard drive!

The WD My Books are my old standby to go to for extra storage. I own about ten of them by now and I've only ever had one fail that took a power surge while writing. But like any hard drive you should have a back up to your back up. This one so far as been running along like a trooper. Just plug in and go. I've never tried any of the software that comes with it though. I just use them for storage since I work with lots of huge video files I need to backup.

I bought this to for a backup for all my photos. It's easy to use and has tons of space. I copied thousands of photos and barely put a dent in the amount of free space

So far this product is great. I dont like the software that comes with it that you are supposed to set.up. ever since I set it up ive had to remove it and wait to finishy clients images before I plug it back into the computer. Whem I plug it in...it refreshes ally photos and gets rid of things. Very frustrating. But that is only becuase I set up what it told me to set up. Better to do things manually to back your stuff up.

I am using this drive to back up my WD My Cloud NAS Drive. It has worked perfect for this purpose. I have not tried the backup software that is included on the My Book.

I needed lots of storage and got it cheap. It's plug and play, and it sleeps to save energy. It is a bit slow when you wake it up, but not too slow.

I bought this hard drive to replace one that I had bought a year ago at a competitors store. It suffered a small fall from a desk top to the floor and would no longer work. I use mine as an expanded storage for my Xbox One. I bought this one from Best Buy because of the sale price of $109.99 and a 2 year replacement plan for for 19.99 was a obvious choice because of what happened to the previous one.

It's hard to complain about a unit that is rock solid and whisper quiet. I bought like this for an Xbox one console and it works flawlessly, no lag or other issues.

Always know I can find the "no pressure" assistance I'm looking for at Best Buy. This product was exactly what I was looking for in terms of external backup purposes.

Drive works great. I use it to store video and digital images. Much better quality than the two seagates that I have had. Seagate lasted less than a year each. WD the way to go.

I have an older version of this that was 5-6 years old and it finally started showing signs of failure. I purchased this to replace it, so far it's been perfect!
