Had to have a computer guy set it up. He said preloaded software was a problem and didn't use it. Now it keeps wanting to update that software, but since we're not using it my expert said NOT to upgrade or it would mess up the setup we're using.

Does what is is supposed to with no problems. Solid quality hard drive.

This external hard drive is perfect to store our videos and pictures. It will have plenty of space. The "My Book" itself is small and fits in nicely on our desk.

If you need some extra external storage, the 3TB range is where the best value seems to be. This is a no frill drive and seems to work just fine. Feel free to purchase one if it's what you need. I wouldn't expect any problems.

I was having a keyboard problem with my desk top and was afraid I would Loose my data when it was being fixed. With a few clicks of my mouse I save all my data it was easy.

It works great. We reformatted it, and used it for a Mac backup. Everything succeeded. No issues with this or any of the other WD external drives we've picked up.

Super easy. Back up is under my control. No one else is determining when or where to back up. Great to find files when needed.

The My Book 3TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive is amazing! It saves a ton of my pictures, files, and information and has a massive. I got this as a back up to my external hard drive and I can now back up my existing hard drive and have PLENTY of room for other important documents, photos, and files. My only complaint is that its a big heavy, but I don't use this to travel with and use it as a back up to my existing external drive. If you plan on taking this with you for saving things, its bulky and will take up room. Otherwise, the external drive works as I expected it to, highly recommended.

Very easy to install, just plug-in to Windows PC and it gets automatically install required files and ready to use. Very fast to upload and download files because of USB 3.0 Port.

The product is portable and worth its price. Very handy....

But is slow accesing the files sometimes....But does the job.

The Western Digital My Book 3TB works just fine for me home application. All my precious items are stored there. Also connects very easily to Carbonite for a backup.
