Low cost external data storage

But a word of caution, make sure you run any incoming coaxial cables to your computer through a surge protector. And most important, don't ever reformat your hard drive with this external hard drive still plugged in, it will get reformatted too and become useless. This unit has a built in fan. Use USB 3.0.

Great for picture backups

It's very fast with USB 3.0 and via network sharing anyone on my home network can view the pictures. I didn't notice any slowdowns or problems with loading them on a separate computer or smart TV. It's well worth the money!

Didn’t go the distance.
