Excellent price for the 3Gig unit. Small footprint and quiet

I use my video camera's highest setting (1080p, 60fps) to record my three kids' sports events because it gives the smoothest, most lifelike motion. The price is, that at twice the frame rate, you need double the storage. I chose this hard drive to replace an older WD 1TB My Book that I'd been very happy with and this 3TB seems to be the same high quality. My PC only has USB 2.0, so transferring the old videos from the full 1TB to this unit took over 15 hours, but the bottleneck was the USB 2.0, not the hard drives. I'm going to order a USB 3.0 expansion card for my computer which would have allowed that transfer to happen in a fraction of the time. I can now use the old My Book to store every digital still photo we have ever taken, and am happy to have several more years of HD video storage on the new one. The only warning I would give anyone considering purchasing this unit is that it formats out to about 2.72TB total free storage, but that would be true for any brand of 3TB. My local Best Buy had this unit on sale and I was able to apply a $15 reward certificate to get this for right at $99, which was less than I paid for the 1TB several years ago. Hard not to be a satisfied customer at $33 per TB!

This external hard drive was purchased to replace a working 640 Gb drive that has served both as a backup drive and NAS. It is still working and over five years old. I purchased two 3Gb drive to fill the backup and NAS roles. Both have been excellent purchases so far. Both were thoroughly tested before being put into service .... no flaws!

Good price, big storage capacity and easy plug and play.

I've had no problems with it and it was easy to install.

Now that Microsoft has added external hard drive support, I jumped at the chance to have a lot more space for my games. Easy as can be to hook up. Also, much like Windows, you can choose to move all the data (including add-on content) that you've already got on you XboxOne hard drive. You have the option to copy, move or delete your files. Just chose "move" and it will ask if you want to move all. Just chose yes and it starts to transfer. Much easier than having to go back and re-download everything.

I only backed up to DVD/CD and I was very skeptical of using an external HDD. But after having folders of DVDs, I decided to pick up a WD My Book. I asked a best buy associate and they recommended the brand/model. I now own 4 of them and trust them with my family photos/videos. I'll stick with Western Digital for as long as I can.

This hard drive was easy to connect and start using. Plenty of space for storage :)

Got this on clearance at my local Best Buy store and it works perfect hooked up to my Xbox One. Now I finally have all my games moved on one storage device and don't have to keep uninstalling one game to make room for another. I always have better luck with Western Digital devices vs. others...

I needed a hard drive that would aid in storing data for the Wii U. I am happy to say, the My Book 3TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive did the job! It was very simple installation that took approximately 5 minutes to install.

This works perfectly for Wii-U storage. The Wii-U's 32GB of internal storage fills up fast, so an external hard drive is a must. Easy to use. Simply connect it to the game-console, plug it in, copy game-files from the Wii-U to the external hard drive, then delete (if you wish) the game-files from the Wii-U when you're sure they copied over properly, and you're done. From this point forward, all game-saves will occur on the external hard drive, so if you decide to keep the original game-files on the Wii-U after copying them over to the external hard drive, the game-files kept on the Wii-U will not update.

Bought this after reading about it on XBOX One site about adding extra Hard Drive to game console. Also it was on sale at time of purchase. Just plug it in and XBOX One had no problem finding and setting up hard drive.

I play a lot of games and have many "Steam" titles stored and this second hard drive is perfect for storing games and keeping my main hard drive free. I found no lack of speed in my game play. I'd recommend this 3 TB hard drive to any gamer. At $105 it is very reasonable

THis item has a ton of space and is very easy to use to back up computers or speed up programs like adobe. Great price. Would totally recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this drive largely based upon a specific need for a USB 3.0 product with 4TB of storage. I've owned many WD internal and external HD products over time and have not had any drive failures to date over many years. The drive itself is similar in size to other My Book drives. The plastic casing is certainly not as nice as the aluminum finish on the WD My Book drives that I have for my Macs, but it is similar to the black of the Synology unit and overall looks good. The power adapter is reasonably sized (not a brick), and the unit comes with a USB 3.0 cord for use with its single USB 3.0/2.0 port. WD provides a 2-year warranty with this product. Anyways its work great and no issues what's over everything but -> *Bad things : heated plastic body hmm~~~may I'm too sensitive or not dunno but kinda bothers me

I purchased this hard rive for my xbox one 500 GB is not enough. I plugged the power and USB cable in followed the prompts and was up in running. The only two things i not thrilled about is the size and needing external power but i new that going in went for more storage over size.

Plug it in and you're good to go. Great for backing up and organizing all your files. Easy to use, backs files up automatically. Large capacity is great too--in case of a fire, grab it and run and don't lose any of your files. A great value for your money, and so convenient.

I found this particular external hard drive when I was researching additional storage for my Xbox one. It came highly recommended. So far it works as advertised.

I needed a new hard drive to connect to my wiiu. I purchased this one which has 3 tb of space and I Couldn't be happier. Now I don't have to spend money on going to gamestop to buy games. I can simply go on the nintendo network and buy buy buy! Best purchase!

As the ratio of hard drive size to price increases, now is a great time to pick up an external hard drive. I bought this hard drive as a backup for photography, and it has worked as expected and to my needs thus far. 3TB is a ton of space for everyday use.
