After 30 days the Hard Drive crashed and started smoking - Store Would not return the item. Purchased another at Walmart (no issues) at a lower cost.

Impossible to figure out if it can be used on more than 1 computer. It was easy to set up and load the software. A little large to fit in a small space.

Did not work with Windows 7. Had to call WD Tech Support to reformat to be compatible with Win 7. Lost most of the additional features of the drive.

My book was very complicated to use, you had to take steps just to download thing from your computer on there which should only take seconds.

I purchased this on April 23, 2016. I tried setting it up on my Macs but it didn't work. I went on a two week business trip and when I came back I used it as a time machine once. Last week I transferred all my pictures (about 4 years worth) from my MacBook Air, my MacBook Pro and my SD card along with some documents. When I came back later on that day to transfer more stuff from my MacBook Pro I plugged it in but the laptop wouldn't read it. I tried my Air and my iMac with no success. On Monday May 23 I took it to Best Buy and they said they couldn't see it either. They offered to take it apart to dock it, but it would void the warranty. They said it would be $50 for a diagnostic and $200-1400 for data recovery depending. They never once offered to replace my external drive.

In all fairness I used it for 5 years, but one day it just died beyond repair.

The external hard drive isn't bad for the price. It is kind of a confusing set up but it seems to be working great

I bought this drive to add additional storage to my xbox one. It worked perfectly for 2 years and the xbox stopped recognizing the drive. This happened once before but i was able to plug it up to my desk top and restore the drive. Now, the desk top doesnt even recognize the drive. This is my third and last western digital drive. Thanks for the memories.

I purchased the My book to back up My cloud. They were not compatible. They work in the beginning but then my computers could not locate My cloud drive. Called WD help desk, they need to work separately, Not worth buying my book

Unfortunately, due to the new bytes per sector change to 4K, you cannot do a Windows 7 backup due to error 0x8078002A. Sure you can backup other files/folders but if you have Win 7, it is a BIG disappointment.

I guess this is to be expected; but it died after three years. My computer stopped recognizing it. Fortunately I backed everything up with Crash plan (highly, highly recommended to back things up!!)

this drive is not very durable AT ALL!
i had it on a coffee table and my dog knocked it off (a 2 foot drop to carpeted floor) and it no longer works and had to be sent to a repair center which is a huge cost!
