This Drive allows user permissions to be defined. Backing up and securing are all provided in this package! The only thing better than this is a mirrored 4TB version.

I bought the MyCloud 4TB drive and set up was very easy. My files are accessible from anywhere via the iOS app on my phone and iPad. It works with Mac OS X Time Machine making backups from my iMac and MacBook Pro seamless. I am thrilled with my purchase. Highly recommend!

This is a great product, It was easy to install and setup. It works great.

I have been working with, building, troubleshooting, etc. computers for well over 20 years. While this item is still a good buy, I would forewarn potential buyers/users that the backup software instructions are not very clear. If you've no technical sensibilities, I would recommend you look elsewhere. I've used WD hard drives for over 20 years (switched from IBM drives years ago), and have never had an issue with them, in terms of the hardware. Usually, with external drives I tend to forego the software that comes with them. Since I am a photography enthusiast, I wanted automated backup, so used the software for automated backup on my house network. Again, the drive so far is great, the software does function very well, it's just not at all clear how to set it up. It's not terrible, but it will take a bit longer to set up than it should.

As hardware, this WD 4TB NAS hard drive works great. It shows up instantly on network devices and read-writing is fast. Early on the drive disappeared from the network but after a reboot the problem has not recurred. On the other hand, the back-up software provided by WD just didn't work for us. The initial back-up ran for half a day, slowed to a crawl, and then just died. Instead, I made an initial copy using Windows Explorer and then installed third party software to mirror data from network PC's to the WD NAS. It's been working great ever since. Documentation and support is minimal. From my experience, use the wdmycloud app to manage the drive and then get reliable back-up or mirroring software. We have two Win10 PC's being mirrored to the drive.

Easy to setup and works great.. plenty of storage and don't have to pay for it.

While I originally was looking for a solution that was easy to use, I didn't think I would find it. Turns out that not only is it easy to use it's very easy to set up and anyone can do it. Transferring data or just storing data is a breeze . Couldnt ask for anything more. Some of the reviews I read were negative about its compatibilty with the Mac. Not so in my case.

I've had this a couple months now, and I have not had any issues. Playback works good on videos as long as you have a good internet connection on the other side.

What I needed to back up files with added benefit of the ability to share files with my other devices. The harddrive of the desktop began to sound like a truck grinding gears and the cloud drive was just what was needed.

This is a simple and solid means to reliably and regularly back up your data. I have not yet tried streaming so I am not sure how will I will work. Some of the product and brand terminology is confusing but overall, it works well and set up was reasonably easy.

I've been very satisfied with the product. Occasionally a weak wireless signal makes the backup very time consuming. I actually needed a document from home and was able to access it on the WDMyCloud app - very convenient.

A great addition to external storage and easily accessible through wi-fi. I can also access it from my office via an app on my phone. Well worth the price.

I got this just to back up my Apple computers. This works okay, but it's EXTREMELY slow with my Time Machine backups. There's also been a few times that my Macs didn't recognize the drive and had to create a brand new backup.
