Can access my photos and music anywhere with phones and/or tablets.

The product was everything I thought would be. It is very easy to setup. Overall great product for a family who loves to keep pictures and videos for memories.

The unit works excellently and provides the additional storage and accessibility needed. Set up was confusing for several reasons. To access the unit, WD has My Cloud Home and My Cloud on the same portal with little distinction. Unless you scroll down to My Cloud, you might set up incorrectly. Also, if you have multiple units (as my son had previously received for Christmas), the network might not distinguish between the two units initially. You have to pay attention to the MAC address until you rename the units, but this can be overcome ( I had to contact WD) and will work great!

WD is a great brand. This NAS is fairly user friendly after some poking and proding. It works well as a stand alone device apart from your router if your router does not have the ability to operate its own hard drive for a NAS. This drive will allow numerous users with separate logins which is great for prevention of unauthorized deletion. Works with time machine.

The set up was kind of sporadic, but not difficult at all. It does work for the majority of the time as far as connecting it to the internet and getting things to and from it, but sometimes it doesn't work at all and I need to connect on the same wifi connection to reset the connection. If you don't leave the wifi connection it's attached to, you'll do great.

I actually ended up taking this back and getting a regular WD that doesn't have cloud. I would love to have the cloud capability but my Apple modem isn't near my computer and it would be very inconvenient to have to bring a laptop to the model every time I need to transfer photos or files. If your modem is near your computer then this would be perfect and I am a big fan of WD storage products.

This was a great device. Worked perfectly out of the box with no issues.

Quick & easy setup, works without any problems. But for some reason I have to keep typing and typing more words...

This saved our team in a pinch while we were filming video footage on location.

A bit tricky setting up. Slow uploading (of course this is over wifi)

I bought this & thought I would love it, but needed to upgrade my router to use it, so ended up returning it.

I bought it to backup my 4TB no. 1 external hard drive. My 1st one broke and it cost $650 to get it replaced. So I bought a 2nd one to backup the repaired one!

Great storage device make life much better and gives more space on my iphone to take more pictures and music storage and for apps

Nice device, easy to set up and easy to access from inside of my network or from work, small trouble setting up different users rights, but over all easy

This is great when you need extra storage when you go on vacation and your phone is full. Back up your phone and create more room for more pictures.

It's a great for first time NAS Users. Good storage for the price.

I would highly recommend this device if you want an easy integration of dlna products, multiple user control, and smartphone app access. I’ve had this device for a few months now and I have my PLEX server pulling my videos off of the public folder and it works great while I am home or away and want to watch something I have stored on it. Also, you can create private user folders that only the administrator and that specific user can access since it is password protected. Great if you have kids and they have files that they want to store in a personal cloud as well as the parents can keep an eye on what there uploading to it.

I have an old WD 1 TB external drive. The phenomenal part of this one is the "my cloud" concept. I now have access to those files everywhere. Whoo Hooo!

Again, easy setup on the network, keeping everything in sink on two different computers on the network up-to-date. Backing up what changes every hour.

we compared several external storage devices and found this one was the best bang for the buck. it was very easy to set up and I am by no means a tech guru.
