This is my second Western Digital 8TB unit and I am pleased with its performance. The first one was shipped to me, and I suppose something went wrong in the shipping because it came to me broken. I have nothing but WD products, as I have grown to trust their products compared to others I have purchased. WD stands behind their products.

I LOVE THE IDEA OF THE EIGHT TB OF MY CLOUD . PLUGGED IT IN AND FORGET IT . IT IS GREAT FOR MY BACK UP OF MY COMPUTER AND ALWAYS THERE FOR STORING PICTURES AND FOR SAVING THOSE SPECIAL FOOD RECEPIES . I LOVE TO COOK , SO ALL I NEED TO DO IS TO GO BACK TO MY CLOUD AND FIND THAT SPECIAL MEAL FOR ME AND MY FAMILY .

This is my third (4tb, 6tb, now 8tb) the others still work just as well. Just upgrade as space is needed. The others go to family in need, haven't gotten any complaints on their side either.

I have followed the directions on the box and online -- no luck.

This is one of the buggiest products I have ever used. Bought to accommodate media files and provide easy access to files, mycloud immediately created more problems than it solved. My WDTVLive does not correctly play media from WDmycloud (a problem acknowledged by WD) and their backup system is a joke. After multiple tech support visits, I was told that I should try and find a workaround to both issues... to transcode all of my media files (4TB worth???) and search for another backup solution, which I did - Carbon Copy Cloner - but my permanent workaround is to return this unit. This is my last WD purchase until they get their software bugs worked out before making promises in their marketing.
